TV Hot Spot: The New Adventures Of Old Christine
The New Adventures Of Old Christine 2x14:
Let Him Eat Cake
Review by: Sal
Hello everyone! Ok so for another review today, and what I am thinking will be my last one for today seeing as I am heading to London for the day. ANYWAY, enough about me and more about the series (lol). Ok so lets see, this is the 14th episode of the season and by looking at the ratings for Monday night, CBS was up up up! Not only did "The Class" serve their best ratings this season, but also "The New Adventures Of Old Christine"! The episode marked around 13 Million Viewers! This is the highest number of viewers watching the show for some time. This sitcom has really turned around and sadly for Julie, she didn't win her golden globe which I still think she deserved....Next time!
So CBS last night announced which series would be showing during February sweeps and which ones were going to miss it. Sadly for the fans of this series, we are going not going to see this during the whole month of February. The series is scheduled to return on the 12th of March which seriously looks like a long way away, but I bet we would be seeing it very soon. Speaking of February sweeps, this means new shows will try and premiere on different networks, so let us wish them all luck in their mission to try and get their viewers!
So now for the episode. Its Richards birthday and he is psyched about it. His girlfriend, 'New' Christine wonders what to get him for his present. She wants to get him the perfect present to show him how much she cares about him. 'Old' Christine ignores that and brushes off the fact that she doesn't care on what to get Richard for his birthday. So when she gave 'New' Christine advice on what to get Richard and the gift turns out to be the best gift ever according to Richard, 'Old' Christine gets very jealous and admits that it was her idea. And basically that is what the episode circulated on.
The fact that 'Old' Christine still wanted credit for turning Richard into what he is now was hilarious. She didn't care about him, she doesn't have feelings for him! She just wanted a 'Thank you' for turning him into the way he is now. And in the end she got it. But she only got it after a harsh war about cakes. Richard of course was enjoying himself because it was his birthday and like he said 'All My Women Are Feeding Me Cake!' (LOL). That was officialy the funniest line in the episode.
Well the writers still manage to make us laugh. I guess another congratulations is in order! The second season has now passed the number of episodes the first season had (lol). Last year we only got 13 episodes and the USA fell in love with Christine. And apparently it still lasts until now! So thank you all for reading, and look out for new reviews coming to you tonight (When I get back from London, hopefully! lol)
Take Care xox
