John Stamos is trading in his good-guy "ER" scrubs for a life of fast money, drugs and murder. At least for a little while.

Stamos will star in and produce a movie for Lifetime called "Killing Mr. Kissel." The film, based on the true-crime story of two wealthy brothers who both died under mysterious circumstances, is set to premiere in November.

"People are fascinated by the private lives of the rich, and there is a part of all of us that wants to have the lifestyle that money brings," says Tanya Lopez, Lifetime's head of original movies. "While entertaining, this story ... also reminds us to be careful what you wish for."

Stamos will play real-estate mogul Andrew Kissel, a real-estate developer who was found to be embezzling millions to support his expensive, drug-addled lifestyle. He was found murdered in his home in 2006, though no one has been tried in connection with the death.

Anson Mount ("Crossroads," "Conviction") will play Andrew's brother, Rob, whose wife was convicted of murder for drugging and then bludgeoning him to death in a case that gained worldwide media attention. Robin Tunney ("Prison Break," "The Mentalist") will play Rob's wife, Nancy, and Gretchen Egolf ("Journeyman") is set to play Andrew Kissel's wife, Hayley.

Stamos will also serve as a producer on the film; Dan Wigutow ("Murder on Pleasant Drive") is exec producing, with Michael Scott on board as a co-executive producer. Maria Nation ("Ice Bound") is writing the script, and Ed Bianchi ("Deadwood," "The Wire") will direct.

Take care,

Sal
