TV Hot Spot: Reba

Reba Episode 4: Roll With It

Review by: Sal

Hey everyone! Finally I can add this review into the site. Sorry about being almost a week late, but it was mainly due to the lateness of the torrent. Anyway, instead of sticking to that we should begin the review with the ratings for the latest episode. Now this episode scored a 2.3/3 meaning that it brought it around 3.4 Million Viewers. This of course isn't as good as the last 3 episodes which aired but it still managed to save The CW's Sundays. "Reba" has been a great addition to The CW channel and most can't believe that they almost cancelled it. I am sure the executives over in The CW are now re-thinking their decision and hopefully will give Reba another chance. It is doing much better than most of its shows anyway, and the cast deserves it too.

Ok so now that we have the ratings out of the way I guess we can push in the review. We start off the episode with Reba & Van sitting in the kitchen. Van of course is focused in his work, while Reba is enjoying the fact that Cheyenne is pregnant, Kyra is moving back in & that Barba-Jean hasn't been seen in her house for 3 whole days. I love the acting & iinteraction between these two characters, its something I noticed this season. Van's character is so different then how he started out to be and has matured, but at the same time he still has the same old Van inside him. So it is great to watch when these two hilarious characters talk to each other. You laugh at their lines, and you enjoy the episode even more.

Something I didn't see coming was the Kyra drinking beer thing. I forgot how fast she has grown and that now she was 18 and drinking beer in her mother's kitchen. I had the exact same reaction as Reba & was laughing when I saw how she acted to it. She acted like any strict mother would and of course took control. When she found out that Barbra-Jean & Brock were behind it I knew we were up for some more laughs. Reba went and acted all-parent like, and to her surprise & mine too, Brock & Barba-Jean actually made sense. When you tell a teenage not to do something, they eventually go and do it! So Reba had to come to terms with it and it was hilarious to see how she dealt with it with Kyra. Offering her a cocktail (lol)!

Another little storyline that was pushed into this episode, which again I liked. Was that Jake got himself picked for a basketball team. Van of course doesn't believe him and finds out that he is playing for the wheel-chair basketball championship. Even though the writers didn't show us much of this, I just found it so funny and deserved a mention in the review. Oh and another thing which deserved mentioning was we finally got to see Elizabeth, first-time this season. She is so adorable! And I hope the writers let us see her more often.

Final thoughts on the episode. I loved it. I found this one funnier than the previous ones and I finally got used to the new & thin Barbra-Jean. And she is still hilarious as ever, even though some may disagree. Well that is all from me for now, so Thank you for reading! And comments will be appreciated!

Take care
