TV Hot Spot: Desperate Housewives

Desperate Housewives 3x12: Not While I'm Around

Review by: Sal

Hey readers. This is a new review for the latest episode of "Desperate Housewives". This is the 12th so far this season and already half way into the series and we just about found out that it is going to get much jucier. Now with the mass competeition these days, the series has suffered a bit in the ratings falling from last weeks number to around 17.7 Million Viewers this week. Still not good for this series in general but is still considered as a hit. Many have claimed that this small effect in the series had something to do with the return of the series "24". Besides that, the episode overall was (as usual) filled with shocking moments, hilarious lines, and superb acting from all the cast members.

Ok so lets begin with the first housewife. Susan. In this episode we take a look into the mother aspect of Susan's life and how she manages to keep the balance and friendship between herself and her only daughter. Julie, as we know, continues to sleep with Austin thinking that they are in love with eachother, but being the brainy girl that she is decides to take birth control pills rather than use condoms. And who do they go and ask this permission from, Edie! The perfect gal to do the job. Of course she was sceptic about it at first, but then gave in. During the episode Susan slowly finds out about Julie and catches Austin sleeping with Danielle. In the end, she finally confronts Julie about her having sex and that Austin is cheating on her. The line I loved delivered by Susan was, "I wish they made a pill to protect your heart".

Second housewife. Lynette. In this episode we don't get to see any of Lynettes children, or Kayla for that matter (thank god). We do, however, get to see Penny whom I havent seen in a couple of episodes and was glad that they fit her into this one. During the episode Lynette feels like she should help her husband make his business a success. She didn't like that Tom wanted her to stay out of it and mind her own business. Lynette takes things into her own hands and the episode ends by them both learning from eachother and comprimising a solution where both of them work together in order to make their family business a success. I am glad that the writers decided to put this little problem into the episode, it focused more on husband and wife issues!

Third housewife. Gabrielle. So if you guys remember from last week, we got to see many gifts arrive for the former Mrs. Solis. As Gabrielle continued to wonder who the presents came from she didn't mind accepting them. Not until she saw one of her presents being put into her house, which obviously means that there was a break-in but nothing was taken. During the episode we see Gabrielle wanting to find out who this generous man is only to find an old character come back, Zach Young. With longer hair (Which I dislike) and loads of cash, Zach thinks he can woe Gabrielle into wanting him by only telling her that he would protect her. I think the message the writers were sending were not about this particular situation, but a sort of reassurance for Gabrielle as reality finally struck her and she realised she needed to stand up on her own and not to go crying to Carlos everytime she needs to be protected. Go Gabby!

Final housewife. Bree. Amazing acting from this woman by the way, one of Hollywood's best. In the episode Bree finds out that Alma is moving into the neighbourhood, and right next door to be exact. This of course doesn't please Bree and she immediatly tries to get to the bottom of it, whether it was through Orson or herself. While Orson goes to talk with Alma, she reveals that she knows about Orson killing Monique and that Orson ran over Mike. Orson then backs off as he doesn't want Bree to find out. Bree, on the other hand, gets tired of this looking out and took things into her own hands as she went to Alma's house to complain. While there she found a picture of Monique and Orson, as well as Monique's teeth which were all hidden under the wooden floor. Sometimes I wonder if the house is cursed because of the kind of negative energy it gets (lol). Bree then waits for Orson to finally tell him of what she saw, the teeth of Monqiue were still in her hand!

Ok so lets round up the other news in the series. We didn't look at any other extra stories besides one main one. Mike and Paul! Met eachother during their jail time and Paul is paying guys to beat up Mike so that he could rescue him from it and gain Mike's trust. Not an easy task, but after several days here, he will turn around! Thanks for reading everyone and I hope you enjoyed the review....Comments!?
