TV Hot Spot: Dirt

Dirt 1x02: Blogan

Hey readers. I just watched the latest episode of "Dirt", which is also called "Blogan" and may I sáy that the series is beginning to grow on me. With mixed views of it from the start, I questioned whether I was going to continue watching the series or not, and to my surprise I have decided to follow it. I guess I can start off by talking about the series in general. Like I said before, this series revolves around the life of Lucy Spiller and she is the chief editor of 2 of LA's biggest magazines. Everyone knows that this style of life is difficult for someone to do, but most never thought of how 'Dirty' this business is.

We take a look into the paparazzi lifestyle and those who go around sneaking for the best stories. Its scary to be honest and as I watch the episode I keep on thinking of what an amazing idea it was to create this style of series. Looking into the lives of the ones who take the pictures which eventually grace the cover of the many gossip magazines all over the world. Lucy Spiller at first is thought to be this bigshot, but in this episode we are reminded that she is just the cheif editor and NOT the owner of the magazine. The owner pays her a visit and complains that Lucy is spending over their budget and that if she doesnt clean her act she will be fired.

That was a bit sudden, to me that is. I never saw that coming and when I saw that it sort of shot Lucy back into reality. In her mind, she was doing a very good job and in order to do her job perfectly she had to go a bit over the limit. And this was seen in the beginning of the episode, Lucy then has the whole episode to prove to the others that she is worth being in the magazine by getting Hollywood's dirtiest stories. We looked at both magazines in this episode and Lucy sets out and is determined to get herself both hot stories and have her magazines reveal the exclusive.

The first story was of a celebrities death and Lucy wanted funeral photos which she got in the end, and the other dirty story was of this hot new couple nicknamed 'Blogan'. Well the couples story was that the girlfriend claimed she was pregnant and turns out that it was a seregate and not a real pregnancy. The golden shot was of her holding her baby by the window. Now that is Lucy for ya. Always taking things to the next level.

Well in the end she delivered what she promised. Not sure what her future is but since this is the second episode I am sure that this is going to get better as the episodes go by. Cant wait for the next one and I hoped you guys enjoyed the review.
