TV Hot Spot: Ghost Whisperer
Ghost Whisperer 2x13: DeJa Boo
Review by: Sal & Shai
Shai: That is a funny episode title (lol). Hey everyone, I am Shai one of your recurring hosts here at TV Hot Spot, and I am with Sal at the moment and we are about to review the latest episode of "Ghost Whisperer". This one is the 13th so far and the writers continue to shock us as we go along. The ratings of this particular episode managed to bring around 10.4 Million Viewers. This is slightly down from last week, but other than that this episode is filled with as much suspense as the last one had. Which obviously means the writers are doing something right...
Sal: Hey people! Well for a show like this one, it isn't considered as a 'hit' per-say. For example, it can't measure up against "Lost", or "Desperate Housewives". Although this series has something most strive for and that is a loyal fanbase. It is funny how supernatural shows manage to do that and I guess it sort of shows creators and writers out there of what kind of shows gets the audiences attention and what can keep their loyalty...
Shai: I agree with you on that Sal, and I guess we can begin on the review for the actual episode. We begin the episode with some sort of a meeting between Melinda, Jim and Melinda's friend Holly and her husband. Holly is pregnant and goes into labour. When time goes by, Melinda imagines herself seeing the baby being born and the ghost haunting Holly taking it away. We then learn that most of it was a dream. Holly did go to the hospital, but didn't really give birth. So during this whole episode Melinda is trying to find out what this ghost wants from Holly and why is it haunting over this baby...
Sal: When I saw the beginning of the episode I thought that it might be like any other episode. But one thing I noticed with this series is that every episode is unique and none have been recurring so far which is always good in a series because it shows you that it is fresh. When the time comes where things are repeated alot then we have to begin to worry. So just following up to what Shai said, Melinda finally meets the ghost and for some reason he has multiple personalities....A trick?...No...We find out that this particular ghost has been reincarnated so many times and has lived so many lives that he continues to do so unless he learns a lesson he is supposed to learn...
Shai: I feel that this episode stepped over another milestone by doing this episode. I thought it was unique and that even though some people dont believe in reincarnation, this series still manages to fit it in. So as the episode continues, the ghost follows Melinda and she tries to find out what is his business with her. She wondered why the ghost would hang around her if he knew that he would be reincarnated and Professor Payne then hints out that maybe the ghost is ready to be reincarnated...and Melinda automatically thinks its Holly's baby...
Sal: BUT that is where we are wrong (lol). We then find out that Melinda might be pregnant! That I did NOT see coming. When Jim mentioned it in the beginning I simply smiled and brushed it off, but when I heard of the news it left my jaw dropped to the floor (lol). And sadly, we find out that it is a false alarm. The ghost finally learned his lesson, and knew that his problem was him being selfish! How he solved his problem was that he offered to be reincarnated and help Melinda instead of going into the light just for Melinda's sake. She obviously turns him down because she wants him to move on which he finally does.
Shai: I loved the episode. I thought it was written well and Melinda's character seems to grow through every episode. I seriously look forward to the new episodes every week and can't wait to see more of it. Someone we have not talked about during the review is Delia. She finally meets another guy, but at the end of the episode she was left hanging at the theatre and her date never showed. I felt so sorry for her. Oh and we didn't get ANY news about the shocker last week. Me and Sal expected this. The thing about this series is that when they give you a shocker, they don't come back to it until a couple of episodes later. Sort of like keeping the suspense and being annoying at the same time (lol)! Thanks for reading everyone! Comments?!
Take Care!
