Hilton Gets Probation in DUI Case
Post by: Sal
Paris Hilton has been placed on 36 months probation after entering a no contest plea in her D.U.I. case.
According to TMZ.com, Hilton's lawyers Howard Weitzman and Shawn Chapman entered her no contest plea to Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Sauer, but the reality TV star, celebrity sex tape participant and tabloid favorite was not in court.
In addition to the 36-month probation, Judge Sauer also fined Hilton $390 and ordered her to complete an alcohol education program. The probationary period may be shortened by a year if Hilton undergoes 40 hours of community service.
Sounds like a great season of "The Simple Life."
Hilton was arrested early on the morning of Sept. 7, 2006. She blew a .08 on a Breathalyzer test, the minimum blood-alcohol level still considered driving under the influence in the state of California. At the time, Hilton claimed a single margarita did her in.
