Fast National ratings for Friday, Jan. 5, 2007

CBS swept all three hours of primetime Friday on its way to a pretty comfortable ratings victory.

For the night, CBS averaged a 7.5 rating/13 share, beating out second-place NBC, 6.1/10, by a couple million viewers. ABC was third at 3.4/6. FOX, 3.1/5, came in fourth, edging The CW's 3.0/5.

CBS also led among adults 18-49 with a 3.1 rating. NBC finished second in the ad-friendly demographic with a 2.8. FOX's 2.0 was good for third, beating ABC, 1.7, and The CW, 1.5.

"Ghost Whisperer" started the night for CBS with a 7.1/12 at 8 p.m. NBC's "1 vs. 100" was second at 5.8/10. A pair of "According to Jim" reruns put ABC in third. The first hour of "Friday Night Smackdown!" earned a 2.9/5 for The CW, tying for fourth with FOX's "Nanny 911."

CBS increased its lead a little at 9 p.m. with "Close to Home," 7.7/13. NBC stayed in second with "Las Vegas," 6.0/10. FOX's "Trading Spouses" remained tied with "Smackdown!," this time for third place. Repeats of "The Knights of Prosperity" and "In Case of Emergency" averaged 2.5/4 for ABC.

"Numb3rs" closed the night for CBS with a 7.8/13 at 10 p.m. NBC's "Law & Order" posted a 6.5/11, and ABC's "20/20" drew a 4.6/8.
