TV Hot Spot: Til Death

Til Death 1x11: The Anniversary Party

Review by: Sal

Hello all. My name is Sal, and I am about to review the latest episode of this FOX seires "Til Death". Its journey has been a tough one yet it still manages to pull in a fixed amount of viewers week by week. The latest episode, which is the 11th so far, managed to bring in about 5.15 Million Viewers this week, which is slightly less than the last episode. Sure the series isn't bringing in as many viewers as other hit shows, but FOX still renewed it for a full season which shows that they believe in the show. I for one enjoy watching it as the weeks go by and am glad that the network gave it a chance to prove itself.

We have heard, over the past few weeks, that the creators of the show have decided to add a bit more to the cast members to maybe make the show a bit more funny. In this episode we were introduced to two new characters. One who is a father of new-born triplets, and the other who is a very well known comedian. His name doesn't come to mind at the moment but I am sure that anyone who watched the episode would know him. The thing about how they were introduced kind of felt ok. The writers use the excuse of the party as an excuse to bring two new characters into the show, and it fits! A bit akward at first, but then it merges together pretty well. I liked them and I hope the viewers who watched the episode agree.

So in the beginning of the episode we get to see Joy strut her stuff for Eddie, and may I say that she looked stunning in that black dress. Yes she isn't the usual hollywood skinny type of gal, but she did look good in that dress. As the episode continued Eddie learnt another lesson about being a good husband and that he should take more care of Joy. For some reason, I felt like this linked with a previous episode but was still as funny. The helium balloons gig was a classic one to use and never gets old.

The new couple, Steph & Jeff continued to have their part in the series although I have to say that I noticed a slight change on how often they show up in an episode. During the past couple of episodes we have seen less of them, hardly so as the episodes go by. I am not sure if this is a way for the writers to work around the low ratings or just a general move by them. Again, their part was funny and I don't mind seeing a little of them. The dancing part was hilarious, and was even more funny as the episode ended where Jeff actually joined Steph on the dancelfoor!

Other than what I have said I guess I can round up this review. My general thoughts on the episode as a whole was that it was funny and that I feel the writers are actually doing an average job at it. They are giving the viewers the main aspect of the series and trying to accomplish unique things which has not been seen by other comedy series. Difficult...yes...But at least they are still trying. The only thing I hope is that the ratings pick up a bit, at least now that the character list has increased so that FOX doesn't give up on the series...

Take Care everyone!
