'O.C.,' 'Sopranos' Stars 'Gathering' at Lifetime

Post by: Sal

"Battlestar Galactica" producer David Eick's Lifetime miniseries "The Gathering" has assembled its principal cast, with former "O.C." star toplining the group.

The four-hour mini, scheduled to premiere in October, will also feature Jamie-Lynn Sigler, late of "The Sopranos," along with Kristin Lehman ("Drive"), Peter Fonda ("Ghost Rider," "Ulee's Gold") and Jenna Boyd ("The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"). Eick is executive producing the project with writer John Shiban ("The X-Files," "Supernatural").

"The Gathering" centers on Dr. Michael Foster (Gallagher), who wakes up one morning to find his wife (Lehman) has disappeared. The police provide no help, so he's left to puzzle out a handful of cryptic clues -- a bloody circle on the wall, a dying bird -- for himself.

In the course of his investigation, Michael talks with his daughter's (Boyd) teacher, a woman named Maggy Rue (Sigler), who tells him that his wife may be involved with a coven of witches whose aim is to rule the world. He soon learns that a number of powerful people, including a real-estate developer (Fonda), have a vested interest in the coven's plans.

The miniseries will be Gallagher's first TV work since "The O.C." ended its four-season run on FOX earlier this year. He's also appeared in "American Beauty," "The Hudsucker Proxy" and "Sex, Lies and Videotape."

In addition to "Drive," Lehman's recent credits include "The Sentinel," "Killer Instinct" and a guest role on "Prison Break." Sigler, last seen parking her car in the finale of "The Sopranos," has a couple of indie-film projects awaiting release: the comedy "Homie Spumoni" and the Frank Whaley-directed "New York City Serenade."

Fonda, a two-time Oscar nominee for "Easy Rider" and "Ulee's Gold," recently appeared in "Wild Hogs" and co-stars in a remake of "3:10 to Yuma" that's due for release in the fall. Teenager Boyd has made guest appearances on "CSI" and "Carnivale" and co-starred in "The Missing."

Take Care,

Sal
