Britney Spears Settles Hit-and-Run Case

Well, at least one thing is going Britney Spears' way.

The pop princess has settled her civil case with the owner of a car she hit last August, reports celebrity news sources.

On Aug. 6, Spears allegedly hit Kim Robard-Rifkin's 1999 Mercedes-Benz station wagon with her Mercedes convertible in a San Fernando Valley parking lot.

Robard-Rifkin will reportedly receive $1000 for the damage, plus rental car expenses. The L.A. City Attorney is considering dropping the criminal hit-and-run charges against Spears now that she's addressed the civil side. It's not certain what will happen to the charge of driving without a valid California driver's license at the time. She's since received a license on Oct. 2.

Spears' arraignment is set for Oct. 25.

In other Spears news, TMZ.com caught the singer running over the sandal-attired foot of one of its photographers, who ended up with no broken bones. No charges have yet been filed.

Unfortunately, her private life isn't falling into place. After losing custody of her kids and then visitation rights, Spears is working on a faulty phone connection that is reportedly the cause of her losing the latter rights. She will also begin undergoing parenting evaluations and co-parenting therapy sessions with ex-husband Kevin Federline regarding their sons Sean Preston and Jayden James.
