FOX Plants Two More in 'The Oaks'

Post by: Sal

Undaunted by the WGA strike, two more actors have joined the cast of FOX's high profile drama pilot "The Oaks."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Rispoli and Romy Rosemont are the latest audition to the ensemble, which will be directed by Michael Cuesta ("Dexter").

Rispoli and Rosemont join Jeremy Renner, Sienna Guillory, Shannon Lucio, Matt Lanter and Bahar Soomekh in the high profile pilot, which FOX won in a bidding war back in August.

Produced by Shawn Ryan ("The Shield") and written by David Schulner, "The Oaks" pilot began production last week just as the strike was beginning. The trade paper says that non-writing executive producer Gina Matthews is overseeing the project.

"The Oaks" is a multi-generational story with supernatural elements focusing on three different families in three different decades living in the same house, haunted by the same spirit.

In 1968, it's a couple (Lanter and Lucio) who have just lost a child who move into the house. In 1988, it's a family of four (with Rispoli and Rosemont as the parents). In 2008, it's a pregnant couple (Soomekh and Renner).

Rosemont replaces previously announced co-star Gina McKee. Her credits include "Prison Break" and "Brothers & Sisters."

Rispoli was most recently seen on NBC's "The Black Donnellys." He may be best known as Jackie Aprile from the first season of "The Sopranos" or from films including "Mr. 3000" and "Invincible."

Take Care,

Sal
