E! has finally set a date for the return of the reality series, The Girls Next Door. The show that takes viewers inside the Playboy mansion to catch a glimpse of the daily lives of sex icon Hugh Hefner and his three girlfriends, Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt, and Kendra Wilkinson will be featuring season 4 episodes beginning Sunday, December 9 at 10pm.

Created by Kevin Burns and Hugh Hefner, The Girls Next Door first aired in August 2005 with an original eight-episode run but was shortly expanded to 15 episodes with the first season finale airing early December of the same year. For the first time, Holly, Kendra, and Bridget were introduced and viewers got a taste of the glamorous Playboy lifestyle as the series shed light on various events at the world famous mansion.

After a successful initial run, which was celebrated by a special nude pictorial of Holly, Bridget, and Kendra in the November 2005 issue of Playboy magazine, The Girls Next Door got a second season order, which began in July 2006. Although the show featured the three girls as they carry out their everyday endeavors, it also showcased other Playboy related events like Playmate test shoots, night parties, birthday bashes, and other festivities.

While Jonathan Baker, socialite Paris Hilton (The Simple Life), business tycoon Donald Trump (The Apprentice), and daughter Ivanka Trump graced the second season of the show, season 3, which began airing in March, featured Playboy models Sara Jean Underwood, Monica Leigh, Tiffany Fallon, Cristal Camden, and professional snowboarding athlete Shaun White as guests.

As for the fourth season of The Girls Next Door, a guest lineup hasn't been revealed yet but fans can expect 12 new episodes, including Hugh Hefner and the three girls' adventures in Alaska, Jamaica and their controversial trip to Monaco where they had a royal encounter.

Take Care,

Sal
