'Dancing With the Stars 6' Contestant Expecting Baby!

Marissa Jaret Winokur is dancing for joy ... and not just because she's enjoying her debut on "Dancing With the Stars."

The former star of Broadway's "Hairspray" and husband Judah Miller are expecting a child this summer, reports People.

The show's rigorous training schedule isn't a risk to the baby, however. Winokur, who survived cervical cancer and a life-saving hysterectomy seven years ago, has enlisted the help of a surrogate mother, who is currently five months along with the pregnancy. Recently, actor Dennis Quaid and his wife had their twin children carried to term with a surrogate or "gestational carrier."

"[The year] 2008 is beginning to be the best year of my life," says Winokur. "I don't care if I win or lose 'Dancing with the Stars' because I know when the show is over I will have the best prize –- a baby. After cancer I never thought I'd have a baby. This is truly the best time of my life."

Miller is a TV writer whose credits include "King of the Hill," "Stacked" and "Clone High U.S.A." He wed Winokur in October 2006.

Winokur, 35, won a Tony for her turn as Tracy Turnblad in the Broadway version of John Waters' film "Hairspray." She's also appeared on "Stacked," "Moesha" and "Dharma & Greg." On the sixth season of "Dancing With the Stars," she's paired with professional dancer Tony Dovolani. In her dancing debut, she was praised for her performance personality, but encouraged to add more dancing "content."
