A pair of actors best known for their work in TV comedy have joined HBO's drama pilot about outlaw bikers.

Lucy Punch ("The Class") and Timm Sharp ("Undeclared") have joined the cast of "1%." The show, created by "The Player" scribe Michael Tolkin, centers on an Arizona chapter of a motorcycle club called the Death Rangers.

Sharp will play a member of the group, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Punch is set to play the mentally unbalanced wife of another biker.

HBO ordered the "1%" pilot last October, but work on it stalled because of the writers' strike. Sharp and Punch are among the first actors to be cast in the project.

Tolkin, whose credits also include "Deep Impact" and ABC's "Masters of Science Fiction," write the script for "1%" and is executive producing with Gregg Fienberg ("Deadwood"), Alex Hertzberg and Guymon Casady.

In addition to "The Class," Punch has appeared in "Hot Fuzz" and "Ella Enchanted." She also co-stars in "Kids in America," which is due in theaters later this year. Sharp's credits include a recurring part on "'Til Death" and the films "Friends with Money" and "Fun with Dick and Jane."

Take care,

Sal
