'House' Producer Takes FOX to 'Courtroom'!

FOX has ordered a pilot for "Courtroom K," a legal comedy from "House" executive producer Paul Attanasio.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Courtroom K" is set in Milwaukee Superior Court and focuses on a judge, a prosecutor and a public defender.

Attanasio wrote the script on spec and will executive produce.

In addition to his long tenure on "House," other writing-producing TV credits for Attanasio include work on "Gideon's Crossing" and "Homicide: Life on the Street." He's been nominated for a pair of Oscars for adapting "Quiz Show" and "Donnie Brasco."

In other pilot news, CBS has ordered a comedy pilot titled "Mike Birbiglia's Secret Public Journal" from -- you guessed it -- Mike Birbiglia (and Andrew Secunda).

That project is based on stand-up comic Birbiglia's regular weekly blog/e-mail chronicling his life in Brooklyn.
