'Old Christine' Co-Star Pens ABC Pilot!

For a network that's considering not launching any new dramas in the fall, ABC sure is loading up on pilots.

The network, which has already greenlit four drama pilots, has added two more projects to its stable, including one co-written by "New Adventures of Old Christine" co-star Hamish Linklater.

Linklater and Jessica Goldberg teamed up on the script for "Prince of Motor City," which the showbiz trade papers describe as a "gothic family soap" with Detroit's auto industry as a backdrop and elements inspired by "Hamlet." Linklater, who's not attached to the project as an actor, played Hamlet last year at the South Coast Repertory in Southern California.

Goldberg will also executive produce the pilot, along with Chris Brancato and Bert Salke ("Boomtown," "Tru Calling"). Linklater will be a consulting producer.

ABC has also ordered an untitled dramedy from "Kitchen Confidential" and "How I Met Your Mother" veteran David Hemingson. He's writing and executive producing a show about a law-school graduate who takes a job at a boutique law firm in Los Angeles.

The two pilots join David E. Kelley's "Life on Mars" adaptation, the ordered-to-series sci-fi drama "Section 8" and two pilots from Rob Thomas, "Cupid" and an untitled show about a family of thieves, on ABC's drama roster for next season.

Take care,

Sal
