TV Hot Spot: The New Adventures Of Old Christine

The New Adventures Of Old Christine Episode 10:
What About Barb?

Review by: Sal

Hey hey hey! I am your TV Host with my third review and final review for today. More to come tomorrow obviously, but for now, lets start with the ratings for the latest episode of 'The New Adventures of Old Christine'. So, this episode brought it around 12.6 Million Viewers, which is up by 1 Million Viewers from last week's episode. Looks like more and more people are tuning in to this funny sitcom. Ever since this series began, it has been one of my favourites. And this episode, ranks as one of the best. Now on with the review!

The episode's title alone made me smile. Knowing that Wanda Syke's character 'Barb' was going to play a big role in this episode actually made me excited to watch it. And now that I have, I could watch that again and still laugh at the same jokes. It was full of hilarious jokes and may I say well-done to the writers. It seemed like anything Barb said was funny, which can be seen in this episode.

Three things are going on in this episode. And I will save the best for last. First, Richard takes 'New' Christine to this ranch. The same ranch he took 'Old' Christine, for their honeymoon. It was funny when he began to see 'Old' Christine everywhere even though it was just in his mind. Although I didnt really find it as hilarious as the other things going on. For some reason I would have had the exact same reaction to the episode if this scene with Richard and 'New Christine' was cut out. It didnt do anything for me to be honest...

Second thing, Little Richard and Matthew looking for a new nanny. They didnt focus too much on this scenario, although I wish they had instead of the Richard and 'New' Christine one. I felt that this scenario could have been so funny if the writers just focused on it more. I mean, I would have liked to see Little Richard pick out the nannies and probably diss them all. It would have been a funny sight, but still, it was good the writers could squeeze in a few scenes with them. Congrats to Matthew of course who is starting his training to become a doctor...(I would have never thought that day would come...)

And finally. The funniest scenario of the episode. 'New' Christine getting used to the fact that Barb is the co-owner of the gym. The whole episode mainly revolved around these two and I have to admit that it was so funny. Barb changing a few details here and there around the gym, and how 'New' Christine freaked out was hilarious. I swear, the writers should put Barb as one of the stars of the show instead of just a re-curring role. I love Wanda Sykes. One of the funniest women on television! Every movie with her in it, just makes me smile because you know you are up for a laugh...

Final thoughts on the episode. One of the funniest. Really enjoyed watching it and wouldnt mind watching it again. Feel free to comment, or criticize about the show. And thank you again for reading!

Take care.
