TV Hot Spot: Reba

Reba Episode 3: Trading Spaces

Review by: Sal

Hey guys. Sal here, your TV Hot Spot Host. And I am about to review the third episode of Reba, which aired on Sunday the 26th of November. First off, the ratings! This third episode scored a 2.4/4 for the night, which means an average of around 3.7 Million Viewers. Of course this is down from last week's 4.5 million, but seeing as last weeks episode was the premier I think this episode did pretty well.

Some knowledge about the background of the series. It is now the highest rated comedy sitcom on the CW. The other 4, dont average as much as Reba does. Plus, Reba is the lead-in to another CW series, 7th Heaven. Now for the CW to put Reba as a lead-in is actually quite good, meaning that they believe in Reba bringing in the viewers. So, let me begin with my review of this episode.

The first thing I noticed, was that I am finally getting used to the 'thin' Barbra Jean, and I actually laughed at her jokes again. The writers in this episode didnt focus much on Barbra Jean, but still managed to give her the best lines of the bunch. Her not wanting Kyra to move out of her house was hilarious. I laughed more about that little stunt than the premier itself!

Another thing the writers happened to include was a SHOCKER! Cheyenne is PREGNANT AGAIN! That I did not see coming at all! And was such a wonderful surprise. But of course, it did hit my head of where they would be living once the baby was born. I actually thought they would wait until then and then finally decide to move out. But that wasnt the case. They finally told Reba that they wanted to move out too. And here the writers connect Barbra Jean and Reba again by not wanting their loved ones leaving them. That all goes away for Reba when she finds out that Kyra wants to move back in with her.

Final thoughts on the episode, it was funnier than the last which is a good thing for me. I am getting used to the whole new Barbra Jean, but for some reason this new Kyra-goth-child sort of thing is kinda annoying me a bit, and I hope that she knocks out of that phase soon. Van is funnier than ever, and his interaction with Reba is even funnier. Keep up with the good work writers because you have one happy fan! If any of you would like to comment, feel free to do so. Thanks for reading!

Take care
