TV Hot Spot: Desperate Housewives
Desperate Housewives Episode 10: The Miracle Song
Review by: Sal
Hey TV Fans. This weeks first review, goes to Desperate Housewives. A show which apparently millions of people in the USA follow. I dont blame them actually, this season has been excellent. And has managed to keep the viewers in and claiming Desperate Housewives the winner of Sunday Nights 10 weeks in a row. Now if that isnt a Hit Show, I dont know what is?! So the ratings were 13.5/20 for last night. Meaning that the total viewers were 18.5 Million! The exact same as last week which is a very good sign. So anyway, on with the review!
The beginning of the episode basically described what was going to happen throughout the episode, in terms of Art and Lynette. It was again realistic, because a small street filled with neighbours are bound to talk, and when they do you see Art coming in a Santa suit, and heading to the christmas festival Wysteria Lane was having. I laughed so much when I saw that no-one wanted their child to go to Art, and to be honest I also felt akward in the scene. Which was done great by the writers because I guess thats the feeling they wanted you to get when you watch the episode.
First with Susan. Now Susan isnt my favourite housewife, but that doesnt mean I dislike her. So in this episode, the writers give us more information and an insight into Susan's love triangle. Between Mike and Ian. And to be honest, like I said in my previous review, I have always liked the Mike/Susan relationship. But now I am shipping the Susan/Ian relationship more. The main reason is because, I feel that Ian cares alot for Susan and I can see them having a future together, BUT I keep on reminding myself that the guy has a wife in a coma! Anyway, Susan finds out that Edie dumped Mike, on the day of his arrest. And Ian gets worried that Susan might fall for Mike again, so he tells her that he would get Mike the best lawyer in town if she AGREES NEVER to see Mike again. And she does....I am seriously wondering how the writers are going to go around that. Does this mean that this is the end of Mike/Susan for good?
Second housewife, Gabrielle. Now she is my favourite housewife, because basically she doesnt suit the role at all. And here she is, in the episode, teaching young girls to become pagent queens. Its good that the writers took her out of that depressed phase she was going through, and instead given her something useful to do with her time. So, in this episode, Gabrielle doesnt think one of the girls has what it takes to take the crown. When she goes and breaks the news to the girls father, Ooops there you go, he is HOT. Something Gabby didnt expect. And what does she do. Fall for him! Its hilarious, Its smart, Its Gabrielle. And the actor, who plays the father, is from Fox's new show 'Justice' (I think and feel free to correct me if I am wrong).
Third housewife, Bree. Not alot of focus on Bree in this episode, but more on Orson. Obviously he still has lies, and she forgives him when she hears that Mike is on trial for Moniques murder. Now with Orson, the writers gave us a shock after another. Finding out that Orson was in a Mental Institute for a year?!?! AND finding out that Alma....is ALIVE! I wasnt expecting that at all...and now all my assumptions have gone across the wall. Maybe Orson isnt a bad guy after all? Or maybe he is? Does that mean Mike really killed Monique?!?! Questions!
Final housewife, Lynette. Now in this episode I feel for Lynette, because even though she wanted the word to get out that Art was indeed a pedophile. The writers made the neighbours rutheless and nobody could really blame them. But I mean, it actually was all over the place. And when Lynette began to feel sorry, I actually thought for a second that maybe Art wasnt really who everyone thinks he is. Maybe Lynette was wrong? And after Art's sisters death. We all know that he IS a pedophile. And that Lynette actually did him a favour? Because now he doesnt have to hide it behind his sisters back. Which again is another shocker which I didnt expect. It was so evil, and so brilliant.
Last thoughts on the episode. Is Susan and Mike's relationship really over? Will Susan tell Bree about Orson being in a Mental Institution? Will we find out if Orson is a murderer? Whats behind the story of Orsons mother and Alma? Will Gabrielle find love with Bill? And what will Lynette do now that she knows the truth about Art? (Because I am not sure if that storyline is closed yet)...
Questions Questions Questions. And the answers could be found in the next few episodes. Although, episode 10 might be the last episode for a while now. So until then, all we can do is wait....Thanks again guys. And please comment and give us your questions or maybe even answers!
Take care
