TV Hot Spot: Big Day

Big Day Episode 2: The World According To Garf

Review by: Sal & Shai

Sal: Hello everyone! I am hoping you are all well! Well as you know TV has been slow this week, but of course, your smart Hosts came up with a way to fill up the gaps. We included Special Previews of upcoming Shows, as well as Special Recaps which I hope you enjoyed. We also welcomed a new host to TV Hot Spot (Nas). But Anyway, enough about that. First I will begin with the ratings for this episode, and this week it recieved a 4.0/6, this means that the show recieved around 6.4 Million Viewers. Not bad for a series, but very bad for an ABC series. Lets see what ABC says about this....Anyway so I guess we could start with the review...And I must say , the effects they use in the show is funny. How they move from one character to the next is hilarious. And Jane, was my favourite yet again in this episode. What do you think Shai?

Shai: (lol) Garf's introduction, and how he dealt with Jane was the funniest for me, hands down. Although I still, cant get over the groom. (Please change him). One thing I would like to highlight, and something I really enjoyed in this episode was the interaction between Becca and Skobo. Skobo talks behind Becca's back without realising she is standing right there (Remember he cant see because Becca swallowed his contact lenses!). So after that, the writers gave us a series of events where Becca does bad things to Skobo on purpose. Bang into things, where girl clothes, pushes him on the floor. Its hilarious! But you know what Sal, yah Skobo is the best man...but we dont see him interacting with the groom much...

Sal: I get what you mean Shai, but remember. Each episode is around less than an hour or so. So I doubt him and the groom could interact much. It still amazes me how much the writers could fit into an episode, and just make it seem like an hour only. Its smart! Although somehow, it doesnt bring in the viewers. The writers seem to have good jokes, have a good cast, but I wonder what is missing? Maybe a good lead in? I know for a fact that ABC has been promoting this second episode like crazy ever since its Pilot aired last week. But for some reason, the reaction was the same, if not worse than before. What do you think about the series, overall Shai? Do you think it could last a whole season by the way its going now?

Shai: To be honest, I do think it could run for a season. Whether it would get renewed or not of course is another matter. I find it funny, and I find it enjoyable to watch. The main thing I love, is how the writers end each episode. They give you a hint to what is going to go wrong on the wedding day. I think I will give this to you Sal....comment on..."The Seating Chart!"

Sal: Dun Dun Dun!! (lol) Well like the last episode's 'Ceaser Salad' mishap, this episode seems to have another problem. 'The Seating Chart' I found it so funny when Alice was shocked to know her mother unlocked the Seating chart and mentioned a CODE! I was sitting there going "Woah! A code! Did Jane commit a murder?" And turns out...It is much worse! Lorna, the wedding planner is ordered by Jane to go and re-seat Garf. When she does that, all hell breaks lose and as her finger slips, the WHOLE seating chart is deleted. Poor, Poor Lorna (lol).

Shai: Yah! I really felt sorry for Lorna about what happened. She was like "All is Lost!". That was hilarious. She is such a nervous person that when Jane screamed at her name it made her jump! Another character I wanted to comment on is Freddie! In this episode were given a more inside look that he likes Danny, more than just a friend. All of his photographs were of Danny alone, and Jane noticed that. I can feel another episode circulated around this coming along!

Sal: That was really weird. One final thing, about Lorna and Jane again. When the guest book had the bride's name wrong, from Alice to Allison. Lorna acts all angry and tries to copy what she thinks Jane would react to this problem. But if you notice, after the problem is cleared out, Lorna says "Allison". Something tells me it wasnt the people who made the Guest Book's fault, but Lorna herself (lol).

Sal & Shai: Final thoughts on the episode as a whole. We both agreed that the series is funny. We hope that it would last at least a season, still not sure about what ABC is going to do with it, seeing as it only aired two episodes, but so far so good. Thanks for reading guy, feel free to leave comments!

Take care!
