Fast National ratings for Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006
Thursday night brought a passel of reruns to TV viewers, and as is usually the case when that happens, CBS and its contingent of self-contained shows came out on top.
CBS averaged a 7.2 rating/12 share for the night, beating out ABC, 5.7/10, for first place. NBC took third with a 4.5/8. FOX, 3.0/5, finished fourth, and The CW trailed with a 1.5/3.
Among adults 18-49, CBS led the way with a 3.5 rating. NBC's 2.7 edged ABC's 2.6 for second. FOX averaged 1.9 and The CW 1.0.
NBC's "Identity," 6.1/10, was first in households at 8 p.m., but CBS' repeat airing of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," 5.9/10, had more total viewers. An "Ugly Betty" repeat on ABC was third. "'Til Death," 3.3/6, and "The War at Home," 2.9/5, put FOX in fourth, ahead of a "Smallville" rerun, 1.7/3, on The CW.
"CSI," 8.4/14, gave CBS sole possession of first place at 9 p.m. and was the night's most-watched show. ABC moved up to second with a "Grey's Anatomy" rerun, 6.7/11. NBC dropped to third with a repeat of last week's hour-long "Office," 3.7/6. "The O.C." scored a 2.8/5 for FOX, while The CW finished its night with a "Supernatural" rerun.
At 10 p.m., CBS' "Shark," 7.3/13, was the best of an all-rerun slate. ABC's "Men in Trees" was second at 5.0/8, while NBC went with "My Name Is Earl," 4.1/7, and "Scrubs," 3.4/6.
