A strong performance by a rerun of "CSI: NY" helped propel CBS to the top of the ratings heap Wednesday against rather light competition.
CBS earned a 6.6 rating/11 share among households for the night. NBC finished second with a 5.4/9. FOX, 4.4/7, came in third, and ABC was fourth at 3.4/6. The CW rang up a scant 1.3/2.
The adults 18-49 crown also went to CBS, which averaged a 3.0 rating in the demographic. NBC, 2.7, took second, followed by FOX at 2.3. ABC scored a 1.8 and The CW a 0.7.
Night three of NBC's "Identity" led the 8 p.m. hour with a 5.6/9. "The King of Queens," 5.5/9, and a "How I Met Your Mother" repeat, 4.3/7, put CBS in second. A "Bones" rerun on FOX was third a 4.4/7. Two episodes of "George Lopez" gave ABC fourth place, while The CW got a 1.4/2 from another "Top Model: British Invasion" special.
CBS moved in front at 9 p.m. with "Criminal Minds," 6.9/11. "Dateline" posted a 6.1/10 for NBC, while a second "Bones" held steady for FOX. Repeats of "According to Jim" and "George Lopez" averaged 3.6/6 for ABC. The CW's "Top Model" special fell slightly in its second hour.
At 10 p.m., "CSI: NY" drew the night's biggest audience with an 8.0/14. A "Medium" repeat, 4.6/8, was second for NBC, and ABC's "Primetime" trailed with a 3.3/6.
