TV Hot Spot: Reba

Reba Episode 6: Sweet Child O' Mine

Review by: Sal

Hey everyone! This is the sixth review I am writing for this series, and as usual will be writing up the ratings for this episode first before I begin with the review. This show is one of my favourite CW shows and I feel it adds a very good line-up and is a great anchor for Sunday Nights in the USA. So the latest episode of this series brought in around 3.4 Million Viewers. This is down a bit from last week, but still managed to save the CW Sundays. Although most TV shows are on repeats, this is the last episode for Reba until the new year. So until then, I guess I can begin with my latest review for the episode.

Firstly, my favourite character in this episode has to go to Barbra-Jean. She was the funniest and was given the best lines throughout the episode. I am glad the writers gave her something to do other than just be a housewife, they actually made her a weather-forcaster which was basically pointed out during the whole of the last episode. It was so funny as usual, and in this episode she basically thinks she is the best thing ever that hit television. Giving away her signed photographs to people who pass by and thinking she is a role model really played out this character well in this episode. I have now completely forgotten about her weight-loss. Well obviously not completely forgotten, but I find her as funny as wells.

Secondly, we get to see Cheyenne having a bit of a scare of her second pregnancy. Which is normal and so well done by the writers by giving her those lines. I sort of remembered the old Cheyenne, the one from the earlier seasons. With her 'bimbo' lines, and how she deliveres them are purely golden. If it weren't for Barbra-Jean's acting in this episode, I would have made Cheyenne my favourite character for this episode.

Oh and another thing, the thing I loved most about episode was that it surrounded the idea of a family. It brought in the whole cast and was an excellent christmas episode. Circulating around the three main important aspects of life, motherhood, sisterhood & male-bonding. It focused on Barbra-Jean & Reba and how they reacted towards caring for their children and being a good mother. As well as Cheyenne and Kyra and how they had their little sibling rivalry and wanted to get over that. And finally Brock giving advice to Van on how to calm himself down during his wife's pregnancy.

All in all, the episode was an amusing one to watch as usual. More fun to watch as the episodes go by. Again I will say that I am really glad I started to watch "Reba" again this season, and am really impressed with the cast, they manage the show well and they are able to deliver a great episode. Congrats to the writers, creator and the cast for an amazing six episodes, and wish them all the luck with the next few episodes next year. Hopefully The CW renews it for a new season or atleast give the show the respect they deserve! Thanks for reading everyone!

Take Care
