TV Hot Spot: Til Death
Til Death Episode 9: The Toaster
Review by: Sal & Shai
Sal: Hey readers. Sal here, and I am with the smart & beautiful Shai and we are about to review the latest episode of "Til Death". Now the episode's title is the main cause of the whole episode and how the writers take this little incident and turn it into a 20 minute sitcom is absolutely excellent. This is a technique which is now most seen in sitcoms which have shown during the fall. This series in particular is hilarious and I will say this again, I am glad they were picked up for a full season. The more episodes I watch the more I am liking this series as a whole. Ok so first, the ratings for this episode. It brought in an average of 3.1/5, which means that it brought around 4.8 Million Viewers. This is up a bit from last week and is a good sign for this series. Although it can manage a good average, FOX might want to think twice before giving it a second season if it doesn't do good in it's next few episodes. Maybe use it as promotion during "American Idol" which I know would drag in the fans!
Ok So I will start off this review by saying that this episode had one of the most hilarious lines in the whole season. This is of course thanking the writers who did a wonderful job with the script. They take these two characters, Eddie & Joy, and make a small argument turn into a battle between them. Throughout the whole episode Joy says that she is becoming more concious with the enviornment and wants to help. Eddie of course doesn't take this lightly and disagrees with Joy turning into this enviornmentalist. And this tiny fued turns into an war about the electricity.
The lines keep on coming and the laughs follow. With Eddie acting all smart and Joy ending up being the right one is just hilarious. Eddie of course can't get over the fact that Joy is mostly right about things and it effects his everyday life. In class, as well as with his friends. Something I noticed in this episode as well was that there is no sign of the new neighbours. We manage to see them only for a while, but for this episode I do not mind at all. Focusing on only Eddie & Joy in this episode was a good thing although some may disagree.
A scene which I loved in the episode was the fire accident. How Eddie & Joy panicked and reacted to it was funny and it was the 'spark' that actually brought them together and actually helped them forgive eachother. I thought the writers did a very good job. In just a 20 minute sitcom they managed to fit in a good storyline. Which is always enjoyable for us fans. Now for another perspective of this episode....Here is Shai...
Shai: Hey Sal! It's nice to be here, and may I add that it is very nice to have you home again. So I guess I can give you my thoughts on the episode. Well I really enjoyed it. I thought it was better than the previous ones and I agree with you Sal, on that the lines were hilarious. Two things I enjoyed. The first is that the writers definetly realise that the "Im Right! Your Wrong" argument is a part of every relationship and it was amusing to watch how these two (Eddie & Joy) deal with it. The second thing which I liked about this episode was the fire scene. Like you just said Sal, how they reacted to that fire was hilarious and it was so much fun watching them trying to work together. So overall, I think it was a great episode. I enjoyed it & I know you did. I hope the ratings continue to increase, like it has in the past couple of weeks!
Sal & Shai: Ok so thank you all for reading. I think we both can agree that this series is doing pretty well. Many critics are liking this series, and although it doesn't scream "Emmy Awards" we are sure that the acting talents of both the main cast members will soon be realised throughout the series world. We love the interaction and the writing of each episode is getting better as the weeks go by. The next episode will air on the 21st of December. So until then!
Take Care everyone!
