TV Hot Spot: Ghost Whisperer
Ghost Whisperer 1x12: Dead to Rights (a.k.a. Dead Reckoning)
Review by: Sal & Shai
Sal: Hello supernatural fans. Hope all of you are doing alright and are glad to see that the series is back with a vengeance. The 12th episode of "Ghost Whisperer" is the latest from the series and aired on the 5th of January. Jennifer-Love Hewitt playing her role perfectly and has actually won an award for it during the winter break. Critics have praised the series as well as looked down on it. Ever since the first episode I have been hooked and have always been amazed at the amount of background the creator and writers put into the series. So now that I had the introduction done I guess I can pass you on to the marvelous Shai who will inform you on the episodes ratings!
Shai: Hey guys! Ok so I guess I can say the ratings of the episode for now, the 12th episode of "Ghost Whisperer" brought in a 7.1/12 in households around the USA, that means around 11.1 Million Viewers tuned to watch the episodes. The episodes have so far seen an upward lift in the numbers as they increase, the last episode only getting around 10 Million Viewers. Hopefully this increase will continue as this series is already considered as a CBS hit! Ok so I guess Sal will continue on with the actual review of the episode, but my overall thought of the episode was that it was great, and very scary at the same time!
Sal: Scary? Umm when Melinda was on that hospital table, and they poked her with something...that was a bit odd. But the main thing I wanted to mention was that I love the new effect the writers are using in this season. Having Melinda have more visions of what happened to her ghosts. I have seen it several times during this season and agree that its a great addition to the series. It makes it more interesting than just having an average ghost, and you can see her actually experiencing something...maybe her powers are increasing in a way?
Shai: Probably...I just think that the creator is coming up with new ways on how to communicate with the dead and that visions are just one of his new ideas of many that will hopefully follow. I also love it but I have to say that this episode's vision was spooky! Ok so I wanted to comment on the two recurring characters we have this season. Delia & Professor Payne. I like that the writers are actually focusing more on Delia, she now feels like a main character to me in a way. Although something I would want to see happen soon is Melinda telling her that she can see ghosts...because Delia has seen Melinda fall a couple of times and might think that the girl is a bit mad!
Sal: (lol!!) I agree with you on that, I would like to see that happen. I think that the writers are making us see more of Delia so that not only could Melinda trust her, but also 'us' (the fans). I feel comfortable enough with Delia and I am sure that Melinda will soon feel it too and will have to tell her. Another character, like you said, is Professor Payne. I really like his character. He is so sarcastic and funny that your forced to like him. Its a great addition and the fact that he helps her and is cool with Melinda's secret is awesome too.
Shai: I would like to see more of his character to be honest. A character that teaches the supernatural, yet doesn't believe in it much is funny (lol). Ok so I guess we can comment on the ending. Shocking! Thats all I have to say. Me & Sal have discussed this before and we were both guessing on what is this 'big' thing thats guessing. Because if you all remember, we saw the signs of death coming and in the end of the episode a latin word is written on Jims back. And now the writers are telling us that all these signs point to a loss of a loved one, in this case...Jim...
Sal: My jaw dropped when I heard that. They can't get rid of them. I don't think they would....or would they!? The writers did get rid of Andrea, who was a big part of the series, so you never know really....For some reason I would have liked this episode as the mid-season finale! It ended with a shocker, like most finales do. But now that we know something big is going to happen I can't wait to see what Melinda will do to save him. Or who she will contact to save him.
Shai: From watching other supernatural shows, I guess Melinda might finally meet the Angel Of Death. That would be so cool. Or maybe the Evil hat dude. He is always spooky. Anyway I guess that is all from us for now. The next episode is airing this upcoming friday, so keep your eyes on the lookout for a review coming up very soon. Thank you all for reading and comments will be appreciated!
Take Care

Do you know what the song was playing when Delia was talking to ned about giving his dads stuff away? It was really soft and sweet.
