TV Hot Spot: Reba

Reba 6x10: Cheyenne's Rival

Review by: Sal

Hey Everyone! This is our first review for a while, we have been formatting the site a bit and tweaking it in other parts and actually have something interesting which is coming up in a few days time. Not going to say what it is as of yet, but besides that I am going to review the latest episode of "Reba". The CW series has still proven itself as the "CW"'s most watched comedy sitcom. People are still shocked on the fact that the series has been called to a halt at the end of this current season. Being left on the sidelines and only premiering in November, the series has been treated very badly by its network and has now finally come to its end. Some people have said that it will end on a high note, but many have agreed that the network has treated it badly and that the show deserves so much more.

Nobody knows what is going on in the mind of the executives over at The "CW". But for now I guess we can step off with the ratings for the episode. Their 10th episode managed to bring in around 3.5 Million Viewers. The number might not be strong compared to other networks, but for this series it is actually quite good. The series has tried hard to make its way through the schedule and even with a late premiere has managed to break a record and save the "CW"'s Sundays. Although many of us had thought that the newtork will renew the series, it seems that they have done just the opposite.

So in this episode we get to see two different storylines. I guess I will start off with Barbra-Jean and Brock. Now if any of you have read my previous reviews you will see that I anticipated a divorce between these two and have gotten just that. I didn't want it to happen of course, and I am still wondering how the writers are going to end their story. I've always liked the weird relationship Brock and Barbra-Jean had and had hoped they would work things out. Yet still the signs of that happening are very slim. In this episode we got to see both of them trying to work around a Date. A Divorce date that is. One where both of them go out and talk about the divorce.

From the moment both walked in, I began to laugh. They were dressed in a very fashionable manner and both seemed like they enjoyed the way they looked. Reba of course was present and mocked them as usual. And apparently the reason why they are dressed up is because Barbra-Jean is worried of her public fans. (Reba stated "All 3 of them?" LOOL!) So in Barbra-Jean's head, her 'public' cant find out that her and Brock are having a divorce because apparently the audience wants their weather from a female in a stable relationship. Her lines were hilarious in this episode and was typical Barbra-Jean, the one we all know and love. I cant wait to see what she can offer us in the last few episodes before the finale. Which is at the end of this month I think...

Second storyline. Cheyenne and Van are pregnant again, and because of it they are looking for a new house so that they could both live in with their new and extending family. While looking around, Cheyenne has a very unique idea of what she wants her house to look like. And when Reba finds one exactly the same, Cheyenne falls in love with it. Only to find out, that it belongs to her worst high school enemy. The interaction and acting of all the characters in this episode was amazing. Reba was hilarious in it, especially at the end. With the fued going higher and higher, Reba ends it and finally gets the house that they wanted for a very good price.

Final thoughts on the episode. With one side of the storyline still a puzzle to me, I wonder what the writers are going to do for the finale. Im sure its going to be special. Thanks to everyone who is reading!

Take Care xox

I don't mean for you to get pissed at me for spoiling the end for you, but Brock and BJ do eventually get back together. In the series finale, she was supposed to go off to Arkansas for a her job, but she doesn't...and Reba finally admits that BJ is her best friend. The end scene is SO sad, I cried, and the worst thing is, they had to do it TWICE.
