Ugly Betty 1x13: In Or Out

Sal: Hey everyone! I am here with one of my best friends and fellow host Nas. We both watched the latest episode of "Ugly Betty" and had to write a review about it. So before we get on with it I thought I would run through the series in general and the ratings for the episode as well. So this ABC hit has made headlines around the world. From the USA to Japan this version of "Ugly Betty" is being shown in various different languages and has just premiered in places like the UK. The world seems to love it and so do we! It was smart of ABC to renew this series for a full season AND give it a second season order. So for the ratings of the episode! The 13th episode managed to bring in around 14.1 Million Viewers. These are very good numbers for this series and is showing an upward movement in their numbers! Lets hope they stick with it!

Nas: Hey guys, Nas here! Okay so like Sal said the world LOVES Ugly Betty...I personally saw an add on one of the TV networks in Dubai that Ugly Betty was going to show here aswell! So anyway lets start with Daniel in this episode...the poor guy was devastated by what Sophia had done to him so we start the episode with everyone thinking he has gone to Rio when infact he has been sulking at home and being depressed! Personally I felt for him and i thought that the writers did a good job here cause it shows us that Daniel Meade, the playboy, actually has a heart...what do you think Sal?

Sal: Yup I totally agree with you on that. After Daniel has gone missing, we find out that he was at home, being depressed about how Sophia played him. I must say that after watching the last episode I had this hate for her. I didn't see it coming at all, but I wasn't surprised. She seemed like the person to do that and it did look like producer Salma Hayek did a good job putting her into the series like that. It made her character mysterious, intelligent, and mean! (lol). But other than that, we have Betty going to Daniels rescue. The episode shows us how strong their bond really is. She is his secretary, but also a very good friend and here we are reminded of it. She takes care of him, and he does the same for her. A night out in the town, and her always helping him out. I was very happy that the writers included them in it and showed us how great these two are together! So Nas...Amanda and Marc? Anything to say?

Nas: Oh these two just CRACK ME UP!!! After seeing who Willamina plans on keeping and who she plans on cutting out, Marc feels he must warn his friend, Amanda, that she is on the "Out" list. He then secretly shows Amanda the wall with list of pictures on it and tells her that she must prove her loyalty to Willamina if she wants to stay at Mode. I liked the way Amanda was having an emotional struggle choosing between Daniel and her job at mode. Although he broke her heart Amanda still has feeling for Daniel.

Sal: Amanda has now turned into my favourite character of the series. In this episode she was hilarious especially with her little smart comments about the other workers. I cant get enough of her, because in every episode she seems to make me burst out laughing. Marc, her best friend, cares for her of course and moves her to the dark side which in the end he does. Another person to move to the dark side...Christina! In the episode we find out that she wants to become more than just a worker, and wants to be a designer. And in order to get her big chance, she goes to the dark side and does Williamina a favor she might regret...Poor Christina. I didn't notice it until now but she is also one of my favourite characters in the series!

Nas: Oh most definitely! Christina is really one of my favorite characters aswell...but I, like you, think Amanda has got to be my all time favorite so far. So moving on...we arrive at Hilda's story line. Here we dreadfully discover that poor Hilda has been fired from her Herbalux job and is being turned down on every interview she goes on. She then discovers that a woman compliments her father's home made cup cakes and says that she would pay money for them! This turns a light bulb on in Hilda's head and gives her the idea of starting her own business. However things go a bit badly when she starts to become a slave driver and forces everyone around her to work SUPER hard. I found it funny the way she was ordering everyone around. Then, however, I found it very touching when she finds Justin sleeping on the couch and covers him with a blanket.

Sal: Hilda's story was touching and the way Betty took care of her and told her that everything is going to turn out great was also amazing. Although one bad thing. Justin heard his mom calling him a mistake and I am not sure how that will turn out in the next episode. Ok so finally, lets talk about Williamina and her secret friend. Now to be honest I always thought that the woman in the hospital was Fey summers, but in this episode we find out its...Alex! Well Alexis! Seeing as Daniel's brother, had a sex change and is now a woman! Shocker! Shocker! Shocker! My Jaw dropped when I saw that!
