Newest 'Bachelor' Is an Import!

After 11 attempts at matching up American men and women, "The Bachelor" has gone overseas for its newest star.

Londoner Matt Grant will handle the rose-giving duties on the 12th installment of the ABC show, which premieres Monday, March 17. Viewers got their first look at the 27-year-old on Monday's "Dance War."

Grant works as a business development manager in London. He's the youngest of five brothers and the only one of his siblings who remains single. He says he's interested in having kids in the reasonably near future and is looking for a woman who is "adventurous, playful and fun."

And for what it's worth, ABC assures us that Grant is a "totally charming and witty English gentleman."

In an interview with OK! magazine, Grant admits that he'd never seen "The Bachelor" before being cast (the show airs only on satellite TV in the U.K.). He is perhaps then unaware of the show's less-than-stellar relationship record. The previous season ended with Bachelor Brad Womack picking neither of the two final women.

ABC is giving one of those two women, DeAnna Pappas, another chance. She'll be the fourth "Bachelorette" come summer.

Take Care,

Sal
