Desperate Housewives Episode 9: Beautiful Girls

Review by: Sal

Hey guys. My second post. And this time it is about the highly talked about show this season "Desperate Housewives. This review is going to be about the latest episode. Episode 9, which is also called 'Beautiful Girls'. Ok so firstly, I have to talk about the ratings of the show. It has done an excellent job at staying number one for 9 consecutive weeks on Sundays. The latest episode has generated a 13.6/20, which in human terms means 18.5 Million viewers this week. The season has started good and looks like it is keeping on the right track. So lets begin with the review shall we...

Firstly lets stop with Susan. Her view on this episode circulated under her relationship with her new english lover boy. Now I have to say that, even though I would like to see Susan back with Mike...I still like this new guy. This episode introducers Rupert, the butler of this gigantic mansion. I found the interaction between him and Susan hilarious. The fact that he didnt want to give her a drawer wasnt a coencidence, but more like a metaphor. Which makes Susan realise that she isnt really living a fairytale, and that she in fact is sleeping with a married man. I can already see the different storylines they could take this to, imagining what would happen if his wife DOES wake up from her coma...(Drama)

Secondly, I am going to speak about Lynette. I have to say that Lynette has been my favourite character this season. Ever since the beginning Felicity has really acted out this character and pulled it off brilliantly. She suspects that the guy who saved her life is actually a child molestor. (not sure if im allowed to post that up here...whatever). Which basically, sort of creeped me out as well. And the fact that he cleaned out his basement was even more of a shock. To me, it sort sends me the message that he is indeed what Lynette says he is. And the part where Parker goes missing, I actually felt for Lynette and shared her anger. If i were her I would punch that guy.

Thirdly, Gabrielle. Her scenes just threw me off my seat. They were so funny, that I could literally imagine Eva longoria doing those sort of things. When she told those girls that models are always skinny, and the reaction those girls gave to her comment was the icing on top of the cake. Very well written, because at the end of the episode Gabrielle is the one who gets a hardcore message. At first you wouldnt imagine Gabrielle Solis to actually WANT to help little children. It didnt even cross my mind, I seriously thought she was going to be horrible in it. But turns out she was actually quite good and that she loved it. I am glad the writers let her grow out of that depression phase and go back to the old Gabby...

Now...for Bree. Goodness what an episode this is for her. Not only wanting to get rid of her mother in law, but also finding out that Orson cheated with a woman he claimed he didnt know. To make things worse, a woman who is now found dead. And to make things even worse he claimed he didnt know the woman and promised that to Bree on the night of their wedding. So, eventually I was glad to see that she kicked him out of the house. But I have to say this, I actually liked them as a couple together. I mean I know he is creepy and obviously has a dark side, but apparently the other side to him does make him a good husband and father. I was surprised to see that for someone who joined the cast so quickly, became so solid in the series. Good one writers.

And finally, Mike's storyline. I didnt see this one coming. Mike being connected to the murder of Monique. That was a shocker. But I believe there was more to it. Mike cant remember anything for now, so how is he supposed to know what is going on. And in the end, when the detective catches him burrying the toolbox. That is even more of a shocker. I seriously am waiting for the next episode to see what the writers will do to get Mike out of this one.

Anyway guys, this is the end of my review. Hope you enjoyed it. Again please post up your comments and thoughts and let me here what you think about this episode. Remember it is episode 9, 'Beautiful Minds'.

Take care
