TV Hot Spot: Jericho

Jericho Episode 11: Vox Populi

Review by: Sal

Hey everyone! Well its the mid-season finale, and I have to say that I rank this episode as "Ok". The episode managed to have a rating of 6.4/10, meaning that it brought it an estimate of 10.4 Million Viewers. Most people, including myself, thought that the episode would bring in more viewers. But that doesnt look like it happened here. The promo for this episode wasnt that good as well, and now that I have watched it the episode didnt seem to leave a shocker. Which I am surprised seeing as each episode I have watched I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the next episode. So now that we are done with the ratings I guess I can start with the review.

Now Jericho is an excellent addition to this fall's new series. I, for one, loved it and will continue watching it. Mainly because this show keeps you watching, it leaves that little extra touch where you cant wait for the next episode. Although I know a few who actually dont like it, its apparent that some people either love it or hate it. Well the episode begins with the death of Gracie. Dale finds her dead body in the store and the whole town finds out. Of course everyone points the finger at Joana. And I dont blame them, he is the mob-leader of Jericho and fits the profile of a murderer. We soon find out, however, that his group of thugs ganged up against him and framed him.

The whole episode circulated around Emily and her father Joana. Jake then gets involved and actually steps up for him. A thing I was confused about though, was why would the Joana's crew go against him? I would have liked a bit more of an explanation about it. Another thing which happened was that Mayor Johnston Green lost the elections, and now Gray Anderson has won. (I seriously felt like booking myself on a flight and smacking the faces of everyone in Jericho, but of course....its not real! lol). But obviously I see why they chose Gray. He was there when Johnston was busy doing the real work. The people didnt see that, and instead they saw Gray standing up for them, which in the end turned into them voting for him as Mayor. I think him being mayor is going to put in alot of drama.

April and Heather. Two women we did NOT see in the mid-season finale. Two characters which I like and thought deserved to be in it, at least for a few minutes. I feel that the whole episode was wasted on the Joana/Murder issue, when in reality I would have expected the writers to include some more drama, like in the previous episodes.

Finally, we see Robert Hawkins. Telling his family he is going to be there for them, and playing football with his son. It seems like they are the perfect family, when we know they are not. Well at least Robert isnt the typical 'husband'. He goes back and checks onto his secret laptop, and whoever is on it calls Hawkins a traitor and tells him a simple message...

"See You Soon"

And that is what we are left with. As we wait for the return of Jericho, all we have are questions. Who is Hawkins talking to? What really went on with America? Does the return of Roger mean more Drama? And will the other survivors who came along with Roger have a story to tell? I guess we will have answers when Jericho gets back. But until then I will hopefully fill you guys in on the latest news about Jericho. Feel free to comment! Thanks for reading!

Take care
