TV Hot Spot: Men In Trees

Men In Trees Episode 11: New York Fiction Part 2 (Mid-Season Finale)

Review by: Shai & Sal

Sal: Hey everyone! Me & Shai are here and we are about to review the Mid-Season finale of "Men In Trees". Now before we begin, I have to do the usual and that is post the ratings for this episode! So the Mid-Season finale of "Men In Trees" brought in around 8.4 Million Viewers. This is down of course from last week, but the main reason being was that this week "Men In Trees" lead in "Grey's Anatomy" was in repeats. And because of that little thing, the series fell in the number of viewers although it still looks promising for ABC and I am so glad they renewed it for a full season. Now that, that is done. I guess me and Shai could get on with the review. My first initial though about the episode. I liked it. I kinda didn't like the idea that this episode was the mid-season finale mainly because I expected more, but it was a good episode overall. What about you Shai?

Shai: Yeah. I liked the episode too, but like you said Sal. I didn't like it for a Mid-Season finale. The reason why I say this is because it was quite frustrating at times. The relationships that the writers put through in this episode was frustrating for me. How they dealt with Annie and Patrick, as well as Marin and Jack. In Annie and Patricks case, they kept on going back and forth to each other. I was so glad when I saw the ring in the pie, and I felt so sorry for Patrick. But then when Annie went to Patrick he blew her off. And it was like watching a tennis match, and watching the tennis ball go from one side of the court to the next (lol).

Sal: (lol) Yah I agree. I was staring at the screen and going "Why?!" at Patrick. I guess the writers want the viewers to guess the fate of Annie & Patrick, because the way they left it they made it seem like there was no hope for the two. But like Marin said, couples always fight. And Patrick has to fight for Annie and show her that she is worth it. So I hope that the writers cut these two some slack. The poor things (lol). Ok so next up, Shai you mentioned it is Marin & Jack. Oh how much I hate Lynn (lol!). I mean I understand that she came back to Elmo to "pick up some things" but in my head I am like "really!?". I didn't understand why she has to stay with Jack though. She said she was happy in Vancouver, and that it wasn't Jack's baby. Then why not go to Vancouver and find your baby's dad and live with him? Its just drama I suppose....adding the drama to poor Jack & Marin.

Shai: Well I dont know. I think that Jack was too nice of a guy to just tell Lynn to get out. But, like I said before, the thing that frustrated me about this situation is I dont understand why Jack didn't tell Lynn about him & Marin! I know that it was alot of information for him to handle, but I am sure Lynn will understand. Plus my theory is that I don't think she loves Jack, I just think she came back to him because she had no-where else to go. So I am hoping my theory sticks and nothing goes on between the two (lol).

Sal: Oh no can you imagine what would happen. I feel the writers are playing with our minds. Jack & Marin have gotten SO close over the past few episodes. And JUST when they were about to get together, and confess their love for eachother. Boom! You have Lynn coming and everything gets thrown around. But I must say, that kiss they shared between them was HOT! Of course, that was before Jack found out Lynn was pregnant. Even though the baby wasn't his, you could see a change in Jack's facial expression. He claims that nothing is wrong with him and Marin, but you could see that he will have a difficult time balancing both women in his life.

Shai: Oh, on a more positive note. I found Mai's character so funny in this episode. I like her and Buzz together because they are so cute. I loved their interaction in this episode, and I hope we see more of it. Thats one things the writers did good in this episode (lol). If you remember, we usually see Mai acting all crazy but in this episode she was all nice and caring towards her husband. It was cute. Plow-Guy (Sam) & Jane, were cute too but I found their story a bit boring. Whereas for Theresa and Ben, I am really glad they are back together and taking it slow!

Sal: Oh yes! I remember telling you the same thing while watching. I love Mai's character. I think she brings alot of humour into this series and I would definetly like to see more of her. When Theresa went over to her to get her ring back, Mai was hilarious. I also liked how the writers put Jane & Sam's character together. Because at first she didn't totally accept him in her life, and I felt bad for him. I actually thought he was going to leave because of it. But the writers surprise us again when Jane invites him to a social gathering with all her friends. Looks like someone isn't shy anymore. AND the final couple, Theresa and Ben. I am happy that they are back together too. Last review I wasn't too sure, but now I am actually happy for them and can't wait to see what happens next.

Sal & Shai: Ok guys! I guess that is all from us. Final thoughts on the episode. I (Shai) thought it was a good episode overall and hilarious. And I (Sal) agree with you (Shai)! lol! So the series is now on a break, and the next fresh episode will air sometime in January. A date hasn't been set, but we just have to wait a couple of extra weeks until we see a NEW episode of "Men In Trees"! Thank you for reading guys! Comments will be appreciated!

Take Care!
