A New 'Gossip Girl'?

Post by: Sal

Source: The CW

Wait for it...

There's more......

My CW sources have confirmed that talks are currently going on about bringing in Mischa Barton as a new member of the 'Gossip Girl' crew. She will be playing the role of, Georgina Sparks, which is a big role and will act as another Rich girl on the Upper East side...But there is a twist...

Barton's character will know all of Serena's secrets. And bring up her past to haunt her.

Whether or not Miss Barton will have a recurring role on 'Gossip Girl' is still undecided.

You think being busted for a DUI will stop her?

'Dinner: Impossible' Chef in Hot Water!

Post by: Sal

Source: Zap2It

"Dinner: Impossible" chef Robert Irvine's reputation was tarnished after being caught in several lies and exaggerations about his experience, but now it looks like his job may be in jeopardy as well.

In a St. Petersburg Times article last week, he admitted that he lied about being knighted by The Queen, and several boasts -- designing Princess Diana's wedding cake, cooking for the White House, graduating from the University of Leeds -- also turned out to be untrue.

Already, the Food Network has yanked Irvine's bio from its webpage for "Hosts/Celebrity Chefs," removed the introductory claims from the opening of "Dinner: Impossible" and issued the following statement:

"It's unfortunate if Robert embellished the extent of his culinary experiences. We are investigating the matter and taking the necessary steps to ensure the accuracy of all representations of Robert on Food Network and foodnetwork.com."

Now, TMZ.com is reporting that the network has "not renewed Robert's contract for future seasons" and "will be looking for a replacement host."

So far, however, Irvine has continued with his work, which continues to impress. On Wedensday, Feb. 27, the chef was in Washington to tape the latest edition of the show, which is slated air sometime next year, reports the Washington Post. He had to cook Japanese cuisine for 250 guests at the Pink Tie party.

On "Dinner: Impossible," Irvine is given a task or "mission" to cook a gourmet meal for several hundred people in a limited amount of time. Monkeywrenches thrown into the works include limited ingredients, makeshift cooking implements, special requests, bad weather and other fun obstacles to ratchet up the tension.

British Comedies 'Spaced' Out for FOX!

Post by: Sal

Source: Zap2It

FOX has ordered a pair of single-comedy pilots based on popular British formats.

The network originally requested a script for "Spaced," from the Channel 4 hit, back in October, while a pilot has also been ordered for "Outnumbered," from a BBC format.

"Spaced" is produced by McG's Wonderland Sound and Vision and was written by Adam Barr ("Will & Grace").

Premiering in 1999 and airing for 14 episodes over two seasons, the original "Spaced" starred Jessica Hynes and Simon Pegg as two strangers who pretend to be a couple to rent a flat. Hynes and Pegg were both writers on the series, which was directed by Edgar Wright ("Hot Fuzz") and co-starred Nick Frost.

"Outnumbered" will be written and executive produced by Larry Levin ("Seinfeld"). The series focuses on a couple bringing up three children.

FOX is continuing to progress one of the trends of this truncated pilot season -- creative outsourcing. The FOX comedy pick-ups come one day after CBS ordered a pair of drama pilots based on international formats -- Israel's "Mythological X" and "Ny-Lon" from the U.K.

'Doctor Who' Script Leaks!

Post by: Sal

Source: SpoilerTV

Spoilers for two new episodes of BBC show Doctor Who have been leaked to The Sun.

The paper claims to have received scripts for episodes nine and ten of the new series, with BBC chiefs "fuming" over the leak.

An insider revealed that producers had been desperate to keep the show's secrets under wraps, saying: "Bosses are fuming - this is the last thing they would want to happen."

The episodes comprise a double bill due to air on BBC One in early summer and sees the Doctor and sidekick Donna Noble (Catherine Tate) travel to the 51st Century.

The pair are said to arrive at a giant library that contains books about people's life stories, dead bodies and the Vashta Nerada, "piranhas of the air - shadows that melt the flesh".

Former ER actress Alex Kingston also appears in the special as an astronaut-archaeologist called Professor River Song.

Quarterlife Creator Calls Move to Network a Mistake!

Post by: Sal

Source: TVGuide

After seeing the abysmal ratings for NBC's Web-to-prime-time experiment with Quarterlife, it's obvious viewers thought the show's network turn was a mistake. Those viewers will get no argument from the show's co-creator Marshall Herskovitz.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, in a speech at the Harvard Business School's Entertainment & Media conference, Herskovitz told a group that the drama about a blogger and her group of twentysomething friends "never should have been a network show. It's too specific."

The show's premiere was the network's worst performance in the 10 pm time slot in at least 17 years, averaging 3.1 million viewers overall. No official cancellation has been announced, but sources believe it's likely the show's second episode — set for this Sunday — will never make it to NBC's air. Herskovitz suggested that the show will probably end up on cable.

'Family Guy' Spinoff!

Post by: Sal

Source: The Hollywood Reporter

"Family Guy's" Cleveland Brown might be getting his own show.

Fox and 20th Century Fox TV are developing a spinoff from its hit animated series centered on Peter Griffin's bathtub-accident-prone neighbor, sources said.

The project, tentatively titled "Cleveland," is being written by "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane, Mike Henry -- who voices Cleveland and serves as writer-producer on the series -- and "The Simpsons" alum Rich Appel, executive producer/showrunner on MacFarlane's other animated comedy for Fox, "American Dad."

Cleveland, who plays off black stereotypes, is the most levelheaded among Griffin's trio of friends.

Once canceled by Fox, "Family Guy" triumphantly returned on the network in 2005. It is Fox's top-rated comedy and has grown into a $1 billion franchise with red-hot DVD and merchandise sales.

Fox brass had made it a priority to find another hit animated comedy to complement its Sunday comedy lineup. It has several cartoons in the works, including an animated version of its 2003 short-lived live-action comedy "The Pitts," from "Simpsons" veteran Mike Scully; "Relative Insanity," executive produced by Jack Black; and "Mothballs," from "Drawn Together" creators Matt Silverstein and Dave Jeser.

In addition to "Cleveland," Fox and 20th TV also are developing a spinoff of the drama series "Prison Break," set at a female prison.

MacFarlane and Appel are repped by Endeavor.

'Scrubs' Moving to ABC?

Post by: Sal

Source: Variety

NBC is crying foul over reports that "Scrubs" is on the move from the Peacock to ABC.

Alphabet net is said to be close to picking up an 18-episode season from sibling ABC Studios of the critically acclaimed Zach Braff laffer.

But if that's true, NBC Entertainment/Universal Media Studios co-chair Marc Graboff said ABC Studios would be in breach of contract - and would take appropriate legal action.

"NBC has a license agreement with ABC Studios, which includes a right of first negotiation and first refusal to extend the series term beyond this season," Graboff said. "We're living under the terms of this license agreement, and we expect ABC Studios to do the same."

Meanwhile, ABC Studios execs were scrambling Thursday to respond to rumors that a deal had already been done. Studio hasn't commented on rumors that discussions have commenced between the Alphabet and its sister studio.

NBC, on the other hand, believes that it is still in talks with ABC Studios to decide how to resolve the seventh - and what was believed to be the final - season of "Scrubs."

"Scrubs" produced 12 episodes before the writers strike put things to a halt; seven have already aired, with five more slated for this spring. That leaves six remaining segs under this season's 18-episode order.

Peacock and ABC Studios had been negotiating whether the net would go ahead and air all remaining six segs, or air some of those episodes, with the rest going to DVD.

NBC execs were also in talks with ABC Studios over whether the net would commit to a big series finale on the air. Peacock wanted assurances, before spending that money, that "Scrubs" wouldn't wind up squeezing out an other season on ABC.

ABC Studios and NBC have rarely seen eye-to-eye on "Scrubs." Studio has complained that "Scrubs" never got its due from a marketing standpoint, and also suffered through countless scheduling moves.

"Scrubs" has indeed been a workhorse on Peacock's sked, bowing in Oct. 2001 on Tuesday nights, and ultimately moving a whopping 17 times between Tuesday and Thursday (and once, on Wednesday) slots during its seven seasons on the air.

Also, for the past several years, NBC has entered the May upfront season with "Scrubs" on the bubble - and every year, conventional wisdom has put ABC as the likely benefactor should the Peacock decide to pull the plug. But so far, "Scrubs" has received a last-minute order from NBC - until now.

As for this year, writers on the show recently returned to work, giving the impression at one point that "Scrubs" would indeed return to NBC's airwaves this spring.

But with no deal in the offing, ABC has once again entered the picture. Network entertainment president Steve McPherson developed "Scrubs" as the head of ABC Studios, then known as Touchstone TV. McPherson remains a fan of the quirky comedy, and has expressed interest in adding the show to the Alphabet's lineup - giving the net an instant comedy franchise.

Should "Scrubs" continue, it would be with the entire cast - including star Braff. Thesp signed a rich deal with ABC Studios last spring that made him one of the top-paid actors on TV. Show's seventh season was originally expected to be its last - and NBC has marketed it as such.

Bill Lawrence created and exec produces "Scrubs," which revolves around the world of medical resident J.D. (Braff). Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, John C. McGinley, Neil Flynn, Ken Jenkins and Judy Reyes also star.

"Scrubs" received Emmy noms for outstanding comedy series in 2005 and 2006, and has also won the Humanitas Prize.

In TV history, NBC shows that have hopped to ABC include "Diff'rent Strokes" and "Something So Right."
