Rook later turns his trial into a media circus by using the courtroom as a soapbox. Rook’s courtroom antics set him free, and with a group of followers, detective Benson and Stabler fall prey to another one of Rook’s psychological schemes leaving the SVU department vulnerable. Robin Williams To Guest Star On Law & Order SVU!

Multi-award winning actor Robin Williams makes a rare dramatic appearance on NBC's "Law & Order: SVU" as an engineer whose life has gone terribly wrong with dramatic repercussions. The episode, "Authority," will air Tuesday, April 29 at 10:00 PM ET/PT.

When a law-abiding engineer's life takes a tragic turn, he becomes an ardent believer in the necessity of challenging authority. His purpose in life turns to making people aware that there are risks posed by leading unquestioning lives.

Executive Producer Neal Baer said, "We are thrilled that one of the most talented and versatile actors around will be starring in this powerful and complex special 200th episode. We can't imagine anyone else doing this role."

'Law & Order: SVU' Star Hits the Nickelodeon 'Gym'!

You know what kids love? Crime procedurals that delve into the sick, twisted and nasty underbelly of society. Okay maybe not, but this summer they'll still get a taste of "Law & Order: SVU."

Christopher Meloni, star of the Special Victim's Unit offshoot of the "Law & Order" franchise, will star in Nickeldeon's first original primetime family TV movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The rather daunting, 6-foot actor will play the titular "Gym Teacher," a has-been Olympics gold-medal contender who is setting his sights on the gym teacher of the year award. Unfortunately, he's not shown to his best advantage by one of his less-coordinated students (Nathan Kress), who just also happens to be the son of an English teacher (Amy Sedaris) that he falls for.

David Alan Grier also stars in the movie that will premiere in August.

Meloni, 46, is best known for playing the hot-tempered Det. Elliot Stabler on "Law & Order: SVU." He also played bisexual serial killer Chris Keller on HBO's "Oz."

NBC Announces Return Dates!

NBC will resume the broadcast of many of its scripted series in April with new original episodes following the settlement of the Writers Guild of America strike, including "The Office," "30 Rock," "My Name Is Earl," "Law & Order," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," among other programs, it was announced by Ben Silverman, Co-Chairman, NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios, and Marc Graboff, Co-Chairman, NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios.

The list of comedies and dramas includes: "My Name Is Earl" (Thursdays, 8-8:30 p.m. ET), which will return with a one-hour episode on Thursday, April 3; the Emmy Award-winning "30 Rock" (Thursdays, 8:30-9 p.m. ET) will begin on Thursday, April 10; likewise, the Emmy-winning "The Office" (Thursdays, 9-9:30 p.m. ET) also resumes with new episodes on Thursday, April 10; and "Scrubs" (Thursdays, 9:30-10 p.m. ET) will come back with original episodes beginning Thursday, April 10.

"ER" (Thursdays, 10-11 p.m. ET) also will come back on Thursday, April 10 with new episodes following the complete run of "Lipstick Jungle," which concludes on March 20.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (Tuesdays, 10-11 p.m. ET) will return with fresh episodes on Tuesday, April 15. "Law & Order" (Wednesdays, 10-11 p.m. ET) resumes with original episodes on Wednesday, April 23. Meanwhile, "Medium" (Mondays, 10-11 p.m. ET) continues in originals.

Specific plans for other NBC scripted series are currently being determined and will be announced later.
