Meet Your 'Amazing Race 12' Cast

The usual assortment of friends, estranged and devoted relatives and one unlikely Goth couple lead the 11 teams announced Wednesday (Oct. 24) for the new season of "The Amazing Race."

CBS has had to go into accelerated promotion mode on "The Amazing Race," which was only added to the network's line-up on Monday, following the ultra-swift cancellation of "Viva Laughlin."

The 12th installment of the franchise that has scored the past five reality competition Emmys will premiere on CBS on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 8 p.m. ET.

As always, the "Amazing Race" teams represent a fair amount of ethnic diversity and at least three contestants in their 50s and 60s are thrown into the mix with the usual assortment of waitresses, students and aspiring actors. This may, however, be the show's least geographically diverse season ever, with eight of 11 teams hailing from the Los Angeles area.

You also have lesbian Episcopal ministers (Kate and Pat) and dating Goths from Kentucky (Kynt and Vyxsin).

Rob and Amber Lead 'Amazing Race: All-Stars' Cast

Rob and Amber Mariano, TV's most frequently televised reality couple, will make their expected return to unscripted programming on "The Amazing Race: All-Stars," leading a cast of favorites.

CBS announced the 11 returning teams on Tuesday (Jan. 16) morning, a group that includes only a single former winner: Joyce and Uchenna Agu, who took the million dollars home after Season 7.

Joyce and Uchenna, if you'll recall, narrowly beat Rob and Amber, who each competed on a season of "Survivor" before meeting and falling in love on "Survivor: All-Stars." In addition, the couple televised their wedding and they've also begun a new show on Fox Reality.

Among the interesting twists is the mixed team of Eric Sanchez and Danielle "Dee" Turner. Although they competed on separate teams in Season 9 (he finished second, while she was in seventh), they met and have been dating since soon after.
