Pilots: 'Yes, Dear' Star Joins NBC's 'Enemy'!

Comedian and sitcom actor Mike O'Malley will cross over to drama next fall in NBC's new series "My Own Worst Enemy."

O'Malley, best known for CBS' "Yes, Dear," will play a co-worker of Christian Slater's in the show. Elsewhere, Andrea Anders ("The Class") has signed on to an ABC comedy from writer Victor Fresco, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"My Own Worst Enemy" stars Slater, in his first starring role in a TV series, as a suburban husband and father who discovers he has an alter ego, that of a ruthless superspy. He's apparently not the only one living a double life: O'Malley's character is described as a friend and co-worker of Slater's who doubles as a "brusque and violent" agent. The show is scheduled for a fall premiere.

O'Malley starred on "Yes, Dear" for six seasons. He co-stars in the George Clooney film "Leatherheads" and has appeared on several episodes of "My Name Is Earl."

The Fresco comedy at ABC centers on a guy who tries to do good things from within the large, amoral corporation where he works. Anders' credits also include "Joey" and "The Stepford Wives."

The Class 1x14: The Class Visits A Stupid Museum

Hey guys. This is Sal, your TV Hot Spot Host and I am about to review the latest episode of CBS's new series, "The Class". Premiering with an akward start this series manages to keep me interested as it goes on. So I guess we can start off by saying on a good note. The series has given one of its best ratings so far! Their 14th episode managed to bring in an exact 9 Million Viewers! Now by looking at previous ratings this means that the series has jumped up by around 2 Million Viewers which is amazing! So congratulations to the series!

Now for sitcoms, trying to be claimed as a hit show would be something different than other 40 minute shows. Sitcoms do not manage to soar high with their numbers of viewers like other shows do. So in this case, 9 Million Viewers is actually a big deal. For example, "The King Of Queens", manages to bring in that same number of viewers and is considered as a hit. So I guess this series is finally getting the recognition it deserves. Probably due to their golden globe win!

So in this episode Nicole and Duncan finally reveal that they care about eachother. Even though Nicole is married, the old spark is still there. This starts off when another girl, who was in the same class as Duncan & Nicole, asks Duncan out. Nicole acts as if it doesn't bother her but in return it does. Both try and confide in Ritchie but I mean, I guess we all know HE CANT keep a secret! It all explodes in their faces and the writers still keep us on the edge of our seat waiting and guessing if these two will EVER get together. One HUGE obstacle, Nicole is still married!

Ok so, next classmates. Kyle and Ethan have created a bond which I like, but at the same time don't understand. I feel its so akward when they are together in the room because they have nothing in common and sometimes think that its just a way for the writers to put Kyle into the series. But other than that, Kat and Ethan are at it again. Kat accidently forgets to hang up her phone after a conversation with Ethan and that leads to Ethan and Kyle listening in to Kat and Benjamin's private conversation. Bad thing to do, but something I would definetly do! (lol) It again blows up in Ethans face when Palmer walks in! Kat is talking to Benjamin and commenting on Ethan and Palmers relationship and basically labelling it as only 'sex'. Poor Ethan suffers afterwards (lol).

Final couple. Lina and Ritchie. Yay for Lina! She can walk again! Finally! Ritchie in this episode was the funniest, like many of the episodes before he steals the limelight with his goofy acts! He cant keep secrets and that basically is the basis of this episode (lol). Thinking of it now still makes me laugh. oh and one final thing, WHERE is HOLLY?! I don't know what has happened to her character but I haven't seen her in like 4 episodes...Something is up....not sure what...

The Class 1x13: The Class Hits It

Hello everyone. I am about to review the latest episode of "The Class"! A new series brought to us by the CBS network. Mixed reviews about this one by many of the critics over at Hollywood, but we here at TV Hot Spot enjoy every bit of it. Some episodes obviously are better than others but I must say that this one was the funniest. It is their 13th episode this season and managed to bring in around 7.1 Million Viewers. The CBS network decided to renew this series for a full season and I think that it was a very good idea to do so. It has already passed the 13 episode order and is a very good sign for the cast and fans too!

The ratings for the episode is average compared to their other episodes. Always brining in a solid amount of viewers. Other comedies which are similar to this one have failed to keep the solid viewers coming in, but not this one. Still undecided on whether or not they are coming back for a second season, I and others who love the show will continue to watch it!

Ok so for the show summary:

When both Richie and Lina individually confide in their friends about moving their relationship to the next level, both Nicole and Duncan decide to help them. Meanwhile, Kat becomes obsessed with an unknown guy and starts following and taking pictures of him.

So like the summary said, this episode included Ritchie and Lina and how they were going to work around the fact of 'Hitting It'. Duncan and Nicole were brought into this as well and I have to say that it was one of the funniest things I saw. Ritchie is just one of those characters that will be remembered by many fans of the show. I even remember someone online who basically worshiped Ritchie. So you could already see that the fanbase is definetly growing.

Another side of the story had to do with Kat and her stalking this unknown stranger. The way Lina, Ethan and Kyle pick on her is hilarious and Kat is basically called a stalker. She then is set up by Ethan with this stranger and it actually turns out pretty well. I am sure we are going to have another episode dedicated to this unknown stranger (lol).

Final thoughts on the episode. It was one of the (or even THE) funniest episode of "The Class" so far. I really enjoyed it and am looking forward for their next episode. Congratulations to all of them for winning a Golden Globe for 'Best New Comedy'. I am sure they deserved it, especially after watching this episode! Thanks for reading everyone!

Rice, Smith Dance to CBS Comedies

A pair of NFL greats -- and former "Dancing with the Stars" contestants -- will pop up on two of CBS' Monday-night comedies following the network's Super Bowl broadcast next month.

Emmitt Smith, who's the NFL's all-time leading rusher and the reigning "Dancing" champion, will appear as himself on the Monday, Feb. 5 episode of "How I Met Your Mother." A half-hour later, the league's most prolific receiver and touchdown scorer, Jerry Rice, will make a cameo on "The Class."

(Rice finished second in season two of "Dancing with the Stars.")

CBS will broadcast the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 4 and is sprinkling some recognizable NFL faces across its shows as a promotional gimmick. The network is doing something similar with the Grammy Awards, which air the following Sunday.

On "HIMYM," Smith meets a starstruck Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) on the street in New York. Rice's "Class" guest spot will find him visiting former football player Yonk Allen (David Keith) and his wife, Nicole (Andrea Anders), much to Duncan's (Jon Bernthal) surprise.

The Class 1x12: The Class Visits A Bad Neighbourhood

Hey everyone, hope all of you are doing alright. The site finally looks like it is getting more controlled, and ever since the new changes (issued on the 19th of December) the site has actually seen some massive amounts of readers which is great for us. Ok so besides that, I guess I can press on with the review. The 12th episode of "The Class" managed to bring in around 7.8 Million Viewers, this isn't as good as previous episodes but again due to the hiatus most series are experiencing a bit of a downfall. Hopefully next week the series will pick up with the others.

Ok now for this particular episode. The main overview will be listed below:

As Ethan's relationship with Palmer progresses, he decides to send her flowers to show how much he cares for her, but when Palmer doesn't seem to be happy about it, Kat decides to tell her that she sent her the flowers, to help Ethan out. However, this only prompts Palmer to confess that she always had a crush on Kat. In the meantime, Nicole, Duncan and Lina decide to visit Richie's "bad" neighbourhood to help him get his stuff from the apartment, and they end up running into Fern, and a gun.

So as you can see Ethan was so happy he was in a relationship again that he sent his 'new' girlfriend Palmer a huge bouqet of flowers. She of course freaks out and finds it a bit to soon and Ethan quickly points the finger to Kat. Kat being the good friend that she is accepts the fact that the flowers came from her just to save Ethan out of the akward situation. This however, backfires. Palmer confesses to Kat at a dinner party that she always had a crush on her, and Kat doesn't like it at all. Ethan on the other hand loves the idea but Kat quickly pushes it aside. I like how the writers ended the episode with Kat suggesting they should have a threesome with Kyle, her and Ethan and NOT Palmer. Ethan was so funny when he heard that (lol).

Meanwhile on the other side of the city, in a very bad neighbourhood is where Richie and the rest of the gang go. Duncan tells Richie that he has to get his clothes from his apartment and Richie builds up the courage to go. At first there is no sight of Fern, and then finally she returns. Richie tells her that he came for his clothes and that they both should 'move on'. This gives Fern the hint that Richie has already moved on and the rest of the gang end up between Richie and Fern and a gun! I never knew someone held at gunpoint would be so funny until I watched this episode. The writers wrote it really well and Richie was excellent in this episode.

In this episode I must say that Kat was my favourite. She had the funniest lines and her character is so negative that its hilarious and had to be picked as favourite class-member for this episode. The writers tied a few knots along the way and made us see another normal day in the lives of these classmates. I cant wait for the next episode because this episode wasn't the funniest out of all the previous episodes but still kept me wanting to see more. So until the next episode!

The Class Episode 11: The Class Celebrates An Anniversary

Hello again. I am posting up my last review for the day, and the honour goes to "The Class". Now I know you have probably heard enough of me today, so tune in tomorrow for a review done by me & Shai on the new ABC series "Big Day". But for now, I guess I can begin with the ratings for the latest episode of "The Class". It scored a a rating of 5.5/8 which means that the episode averaged around 8.7 Million Viewers. This is the exact same as the last fresh episode of "The Class" which aired two weeks ago. Ok so now that we have that down I guess I can quickly start off with the review.

Ok so as we begin, we see Richie & Lina together again. But Lina doesn't seem like her old self. The writers did good, because they didn't make her forget about the whole 'I found out you had a wife while dating me" thing. Which again is what most women would do. But as we continue throughout the episode she finds out that Richie is the right one for her and that even though she has dated many guys in the past, none of them understood her they way Richie does. And they end up together. I also really enjoyed the fact that they gave him fantastic lines in the episode, he was the funniest for me in this episode.

Another thing which I think we should mention about these two is that we did find them together at the end. But Richie's pole dancing and Lina's reaction to him doing that was even funnier. I really enjoyed that part because it was the highlight of the whole episode. This is where "The Class" gets good. This series hasn't been classified by others or by me as a hit, but it is an enjoyable thing to watch. And I am actually glad they are still airing it.

Ok so a critique about the episode. I am sure alot of us agree that they are a bit too many cast members in this series. And when they introduced Kat's neighbour, I was thinking "Oh no not another one". And while I was thinking that I noticed that Ethan was still hanging out with Kat. Now I am going to be very honest, WHAT is he still doing hanging around her? Are they together? Are they friends? Because to be honest she doesn't look like the person who enjoys extra company, and by knowing that Ethan just looks like this stalker.

Anyway, besides that. The writers finally give us an ending which includes Ethan. Ever since the pilot Ethan has been kept in the background. Not having much of a storyline to deal with, but finally the writers decide to end an episode with a shocker concerning Ethan. He slept with Kat's neighbour. The same neighbour who went to Art School with Kat, and the same neighbour who Kat hates. I am sure we are going to see a very funny upcoming episode about this little incident.

Finally. I wanted to point out the whole Duncan & Nicole. Get together already! Episode after episode we watch these two get close. He understands her. She understands him. I don't see why Nicole got married to that moron, and I think that the writers are making it a bit too easy for us to realise that. We all know where this one is going to end up going. Obviously Duncan and Nicole will end up together, and if the writers don't do it. Then I will be quite surprised.

Ok so final thoughts. We didn't get to see Holly's character in this. Only for a short minute or so. But I didn't really mind it that much. Good episode, not great. But I hope the writers keep it up and keep giving us more of these characters. I feel they can do so much with these storylines but are only giving us a small portion. Anyway that is all from me today! Tomorrow we are having a couple of reviews done between Me & Shai! Thanks for reading guys!

The Class Episode 10: The Class Runs Into A Convenience Store

Hey everyone. Just watched the latest episode of The Class, which is episode 10, and I must say that this episode was probably the funniest of the whole season. Ever since this sitcom began on CBS, I have mainly watched it believing that it will get better soon...and at last it has. This episode brought laughs from the very begenning, I was online with Shai and a minute has not even passed and I told her that I had a good feeling about this episode. And I was right. The ratings for this episode has picked up, going to a 8.7 Million Viewer mark. Up by around 400,000 thousand viewers from last weeks episode. The next episode will be shown on the 11th of December, meaning 'The Class' will have a break next week.

So in this episode, like the title says, the whole class meet up in a Convenience Store. The whole episode circulated around the relationship between Richie and Lina, which I didn't mind at all. The jokes from the other cast members, especially Holly were over the top funny! In the beginning Richie crashes into the Convenience store, and little by little we see more of the Class show up to add humor to this scenario.

The line that Kat had, which made me laugh was when she commented on the police not taking Richie's license away yet. Seeing as he ran over her sister Lina who is now in a wheelchair. I thought to myself, Hey! Why DOES he still have a drivers license (lol)! Also, I have to say the interaction between Nicole and Duncan was funny too, the fact that she couldnt get the christmas lightings to unravel was a good thing the writers put in, because when they finally found out that Richie was in a car accident, Nicole was so happy with herself for finally untangeling the wires (lol!)

The show continued to put a smile on my face with Holly. Her character this episode was the most funniest one for me. Her lines were hilarious and she really played the part perfectly. Her as a News reporter still makes me laugh because of the lines she used in this episode. I would really recommend you guys to watch it because of her alone!

Anyway, my final thoughts about this episode is that I will be tuning in throughout the season, IF every episode remains as funny as this one was. Good show, good writing, and I hope CBS dont pull the plug on it. Comments? Please do...

The Class Episode 9:
The Class Gives Thanks

Hey everyone. Your Host, Sal, here again. And Im about to review the latest episode of CBS's new fresh comedy this fall. The Class. Now this series is written by some of the writers of Friends. And by knowing that, peoples expectations of this series were sort of higher than they recieved. The series averages around 8 to 9 Million viewers a night, which isnt bad, but obviously could do better for a CBS sitcom. Now going with this episode the ratings of viewers were around 8.3 Million. Which is good. Not bad. And the episode was actually more amusing to watch. So lets head on with the review.

This episode is about thanksgiving, and the characters are all brought up into three different scenarios. The first scenario included the characters Nicolle & Yonk Allen, as well as Duncan Carmello and his mother. A hilarious addition as well was Yonk's daughter Penny (The Creature or Shrek). Which I actually found very funny. Throughout the scenario, you feel the akwardness of Duncan and Nicolle. Their past relationship of course getting in between. Another thing I found extremely funny was when Duncan's mom phones in from the intercom and claims that she is lost somewhere on the second floor. So later on, Yonk FINALLY finds out that Nicolle and Duncan used to date, and to me, I honestly thought he was going to react badly towards this. Maybe even feel threatened from Duncan and fire him...but that isnt the case and the whole thing ends up having a nice ending. Although...When Yonk asks Duncan about some personal questions about Nicolle, you could basically see that Duncan still cares for Nicolle....I hope the writers will put them both together soon...

Ok second scenario. Holly and her family invite Kyle and his partner over for thanksgiving dinner. The line which bests describe this scenario was said by Kyle himself and that "Daughers always marry their fathers". Which of course meant that not only is Holly's husband sending off mixed signals of his sexuality, but also Holly's father. This scenario was fun to watch, yet not as amusing as I thought it would have been...

And finally the last scenario. Between Richie and Lina. And included a bit of Kat and Ethan. Finally! Lina finds out about Richie's double life and doesnt forgive him in the end. Which I think is smart of her to do, but at the same thing if only Richie got there sooner...damn writers! The way Kat reacted towards Richie was the best part of the whole episode. The fact that she wanted to spray him with cooking spray was funny. We only see a bit of Ethan in the end.

Overall, good episode. Duncan and Nicolle obviously still have feelings for one another. And I hope the writers do something about it soon. Richie and Lina...boy...I wouldnt want to be in his shoes. He left his wife, and his girlfriend dumped him. Now he literally has no-one. Anyway, this has been fun as usual. Another review will be coming shortly. Please keep the comments coming. I can see that a few people are visiting the site so I am excited about that!
