Fast National ratings for Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007

On a night interrupted by President Bush's address about Iraq, CBS managed to grab the biggest slice of a fairly small ratings pie.

CBS averaged a 6.4 rating/10 share in primetime, beating out NBC's 5.4/8. ABC, 4.6/7, came in third. FOX took fourth with a 3.7/6, and The CW drew a 2.1/3 for fifth.

The adults 18-49 crown also went to CBS, which earned a 2.9 rating in the key ad demographic. NBC finished second with a 2.7, followed by ABC at 2.5 and FOX at 2.0. The CW trailed at 1.5.

An hour of "According to Jim" put ABC on top at 8 p.m., averaging 5.7/9. The premiere of CBS' reality series "Armed & Famous" drew a 5.3/8. "Friday Night Lights," 4.6/7, was third in households for NBC, but FOX's "Bones" repeat had a few more viewers. "Beauty and the Geek" earned a 2.6/4 for The CW.

All of the Big Four networks carried Bush's speech at 9 p.m. ET (West Coast viewers saw regular programming). NBC led the way, drawing a 6.7/10 with its coverage and a truncated "Deal or No Deal." The speech and a "Criminal Minds" rerun averaged 6.3/10 for CBS. ABC was third with Bush and "The Knights of Prosperity," while FOX (2.8/4) aired a "'Til Death" repeat following the speech. A "One Tree Hill" repeat closed the night for The CW with a 1.6/2.

"Criminal Minds" and "CSI: NY" moved CBS to the lead at 10 p.m., averaging 7.7/13. "Medium" posted a 5.1/9 for NBC, while "In Case of Emergency" and "Primetime: Medical Mysteries" averaged 4.1/7.
