FOX Pilots Niecy Nash Comedy

A pair of 20th Century FOX comedies, including one starring "Reno 911" veteran Niecy Nash, have landed at FOX and CBS.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, FOX has given a put pilot commitment to the untitled Nash vehicle, written by Abraham Higginbotham ("Arrested Development").

The Higginbotham script focuses on lives of the staff at a ritzy New York hotel and will be a multicamera comedy.

Other credits for Nash include "Guess Who," ""Code Name: The Cleaner" and "Reno 911!: Miami."

Meanwhile, CBS has snagged "Private Lives of Public People" from Jonathan Groff ("Andy Barker, P.I."), winning a bidding war with ABC.

A hybrid of multi- and single-camera, "Private Lives" looks at three adult siblings whose public lives are very different from their private lives.

Groff has also written on "Will & Grace" and "How I Met Your Mother."
