ABC Family Crowns 'America's Prom Queen'

Are you America's prom queen? Probably not, but ABC Family is at least throwing the issue open for debate.

ABC Family announced Thursday (Nov. 29) that the network had ordered up a six-episode competition reality series titled "America's Prom Queen" which will search for... well, you can probably figure it out.

A group of high school-aged girls will move into a mansion where they'll face challenges testing what ABC Family describes as "their prom queen mettle." We have no idea what that means.

Weekly eliminations will take place in front of the Prom Committee consisting of judges representing a variety of high school stereotypes. The eventual winner will be voted on by the viewers, followed by a prom-themed finale.

"This is a great show for our Millennial audience," says ABC Family President Paul Lee. "Patty Ivins and Julie Pizzi are producing a show for us that will be packed with all of the drama, emotion, rivalry and friendship that go into choosing America's Prom Queen."

Ivins and Pizzi's previous credits have included NBC's "Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Model Search" and Style's "Dress My Nest."
