Bill Nye, the Restraining Order Guy!

Post by: Sal

Bill Nye, the Science Guy, is having trouble with his former Science Gal.

The TV personality has filed a request for a restraining order against his ex-fiancee because he claims she tried to poison him, report news sources.

Nye, 51, sought the order on Sept. 4, the day after he claims that Blair Tindall, 47, was at his home at 11:30 p.m. dressed all in black and "emerged from my backyard ... carrying two plastic bottles filled with some sort of solvent. Apparently she was trying to poison my plants including some vegetable[s]. She fled on foot and then a car sped away from the scene."

Other complaints outlined in the documents, which were filed in a Los Angeles court, include Tindall's driving by his house twice in the previous three weeks and leaving a coffee pot on his porch on Aug. 16.

The lady in question filed a response on Nov. 13 disagreeing with the restraining order. According to TMZ.com, she writes off the nighttime jaunt through Nye's vegetable patch as a "foolish, sophomoric act of poor judgment" brought on by a series of personal problems.

Nye wants the court to order Tindall to stay away from his Studio City home and to forbid her from contacting him.

The erstwhile couple has had a rocky time from the start. They were engaged for five months before tying the knot in February 2006 in Los Angeles. He ended the marriage seven weeks later, when their marriage license was returned invalid and unrecorded.

Tindall is a former concert oboist who has performed in numerous symphonies and at Carnegie Hall. She's also a journalist who wrote the book "Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs and Classical Music," a behind-the-scenes look at the life of a freelance classical musician. She's also contributed to soundtracks for "Malcolm X," "Crooklyn," "Mad Dog and Glory" and "Snake Eyes."

Nye is a scientist, engineer, comedian, author and inventor who has a degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University. He's best known for his nine-year stint on PBS' "Bill Nye, the Science Guy." In 2006, he made a guest appearance on CBS' "Numb3rs" and most recently appeared on VH1's "America's Most Smartest Model."

Take Care,
