Rosie O'Donnell Talking with MSNBC
Post by: Sal
Rosie O'Donnell, who's been cooling her broadcasting heels since leaving "The View" earlier this year, may be getting back into the game.
The former daytime talk-show host is in discussions with MSNBC to host a prime-time show on the news channel. Though the talks are in their early stages, it's possible she could step into the competitive 9 p.m. ET spot, The New York Times reports.
If a deal comes down, O'Donnell would be stepping into a timeslot opposite "Hannity & Colmes" on Fox News and "Larry King Live" on CNN. Both shows regularly beat up on MSNBC in the ratings; the channel's current 9 o'clock offering is "Live with Dan Abrams."
The Times, quoting NBC executives, says a number of details still have to be worked out, including compensation and when a possible O'Donnell show would premiere.
It's probably wise to take the news with at least a pinch of salt. Since leaving "The View" O'Donnell has been rumored to be doing everything from hosting "The Price Is Right" to guest-starring on "Friday Night Lights," and nothing thus far has come to fruition.
She will be reprising a guest-starring role on FX's "Nip/Tuck" later this season.
