The Young & The Restless: Enrique Eglasias Guest Stars!

Post by: Sal

Here is the Interview with Enrique Eglasias who made a guest appearance on "The Young & The Restless". Also look below for a link which would show you a video clip of the singer on the set. Enjoy!

Interview:

How was it on the set today?

"It was fun! A lot of fun. It was just singing really. The people are very nice. Days of Our Lives is one of my favorite shows (he says jokingly). I love John Black (everyone laughs)! And Carrie. No, I love The Young and the Restless. I watch it sometimes. You can see it everywhere. I TiVo it everyday. I am one of those obsessive fans. It's the biggest soap opera so even if you don't watch the show, everybody knows what is going on."

Who is your favorite character?

"Victor. He's the bomb. I like how he can be bad and good."

Does any of your family or friends watch the show?

"It's funny. Last week they played one of my songs on the show and everybody started calling me and saying they heard my song. People that I didn't even know watched the show. One of my married friends called and said his wife watches the show and heard my song. I was amazed."

Was it hard to do this kind of gig when you are used to performing in front of huge crowds?
"No, it is the same."

Did you enjoy your guest appearance on How I met your mother?

"I love that show. I love acting and I love doing comedy. I love sitcoms. I like shows like CBS' Two and a Half Men, Showtime's Californication and NBC's Heroes. The type of TV that I watch, I will go from MTV to those kind of shows. I watch MTV for the videos though not for the reality shows. I got a TiVo about a year ago and it is amazing! I love it. When I travel and go to hotels, I forget that they don't have TiVo and can't pause the programming."

Do you enjoy acting or is it something you just like to do when it comes up?

"No, I love it. I love filming. I am a film buff. When I have days off, I go to the movies. I have done a couple of small roles on films. I would rather do that and do some sitcoms to get better and better."

Would you like to be a lead?

"That would be too scary right now, to carry the whole movie. I would rather do small things surrounded by great actors and learn as much as possible."

What's next for you?

"I'm touring. I am leaving for South Africa."

As a musician, what is your favorite part of the creative process?

"I like writing and touring. Writing is a lot like therapy and touring is just a lot of fun."

Funny fan experiences?

"I had a fan that waited under a table for like 10 hours at the Anaheim Pond in LA. She waited with her sister. I came early for sound check at about 4pm and she was afraid to come out so she stayed under the table until after the show before coming out."

What haven't you done that you would still like to do?

"I just want to write better songs. There is always that song that you hear that you say, 'I wish I had written that.'"

Spanish and English…

"Do you know what? What you can say in English, takes a lot longer to express in Spanish."
