Girlfriends: Cancelled?

Hey everyone,

More rumors are going around as to the fate of one of the longest running african-american sitcoms of our time. "Girlfriends" which is on their 8th season on The CW, was supposed to finish up their final season with a series finale in May. There were also talks with the creators about bringing back Jill Marie Jones (Toni Childs) for the series finale, but all that is looking like it is not going to happen. The words are buzzing around in hollywood that the show might have just aired their series finale this past Monday which wasn't even a proper series finale!

Fans are furious, and even though I am not a follower of the show I would still like to see a proper send off. I hope the network knows what they are doing...a show that has been on for this long deserves to be dealt with in the right way.
