CBS Still Wants 'Big Brother' For the Summer!

CBS' experiment with a spring season of "Big Brother" may not be attracting huge crowds, but the network wants the reality staple back for the summer.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS is still planning on another installment of "Big Brother" for the summer, with the show's 10th season running essentially back-to-back with the current "Big Brother: 'Til Death Do Us Part."
After eight summer incarnations, the last three averaging between a 2.8 and 2.9 rating in the key 18-49 demographic, CBS rushed a new season of "Big Brother" three-nights-a-week programming to cover the network's schedule in the midst of the writers strike. Of course, the WGA secured a new pact soon after the February premiere of "'Til Death Do Us Part" and now CBS has three primetime hours dedicated to a series averaging a much-less-impressive 2.1 demographic rating.
The new "Big Brother" season -- featuring the show's youngest and least ethnically diverse cast yet -- was initially built around the premise that the contestants had been matched with their soulmates and would be playing as teams. Those couples were split up two weeks ago, leaving every shut-in to fend for themselves.
The trade paper offers no details on when "Big Brother 10" would premiere, though before this new season, all previous seasons have launched in early July.
Take care,
Sal
