'Gilligan's Island's' Mary Ann Caught With Mary Jane!

Dawn Wells, who rocked the belly-baring shirts and pigtails as the wholesome Mary Ann on "Gilligan's Island," was allegedly caught with marijuana in her car.

The actress is serving six months of unsupervised probation stemming for an October incident in Idaho, report news sources.

On Oct. 18, Wells was pulled over in Teton County after she was spotted driving erratically. The sheriff's deputy smelled marijuana, which Wells explained had come from three hitchhikers she had just dropped off. She also denied knowledge that half-smoked joints and two cases used to store the drug were in her vehicle. Wells then failed a sobriety test.

On Feb. 29, she was sentenced to five days in jail, fined $410.50 and placed on probation after pleading guilty to one count of reckless driving. She was able to have three misdemeanor counts -- driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance -- dropped through a plea agreement.

Her lawyer Ron Swafford had argued that witnesses could testify that she had very little to drink at a party previous to driving and was not intoxicated, but that she was swerving because she was trying to find the heater controls in her new car. As for the pot, the attorney says that a friend of Wells would testify that he left it there without her knowledge when he used the vehicle that day.

Wells, 69, is best known for playing Mary Ann Summers on the classic show "Gilligan's Island." Her other credits include "Bonanza," "Love Boat," "Fantasy Island," "Girlfriends" and "1 vs. 100."
